What does that mean. What's a redshirt?

I believe its when they wear red jerseys during practice. Means you can't hit that player...often times due to injury. Foreign concept to us Canes fans.

Blue came because someone else wasn't coming and a scollie opened up. I think he is a great pick up but it might take another year before we see much out of him on the field.

I am with you. I think he will be on special teams this year but won't get serious burn till 2014.

I think its a good thing he's not getting a lot of early PT. We're slowly starting to build something we haven't had in years around the UM Football Program. Some refer to it as depth.

Bravo for being smart. But you can expect some of the idiots to start questioning whether Blue is a bust if he doesn't break out as a RS Freshmans.

Between players not breaking out while they RS and Golden not winning games during interviews, this program is out of control.

I think the caller's use of "your homeboys" should have been a dead giveaway that it wasn't Flubberneck on the other end of the line.

I know, some people need to adjust their expectations for our players. Blue is a redshirt Freshman, give him time on ST's this year and see what he grows into.

Beamer and his staff knows there is a 'changing of the guard' in the Coastal division. In most cases we've won out versus Va Tech in recruiting. I know they are tired of us "stealing" S. Florida recruits from them, but in reality it means a lot to kids when they are offered by their hometown school. Regardless of the outcome with Blue's career as a Cane, the backdrop of his recruiting story made me a fan of him. I hope he does well here.

That is my point..just throw bodies out there for depth and lets save some talent and work these guys like real red shirts...??

Either way Blue's arms are thick as ****. That's one dude that will absolutely lay the wood when given the chance. Hopefully he sees the field this year, I really have faith in him to become a beast that will **** people up big time.

I have always heard that when Tressel was doing is bowl prep for the National Championship game, his main man for UM research was Franky B. So I have not liked him since then, and if it's not true I don't care...never cared for Va Tech

So no redshirts have ever been mentioned around greentree? Not saying I'm worried just saying I literally haven't heard from him; anyone see him in practice, read anything ect.
