I don't know...I only casually pay attention to his statements and press conferences. He does seem to make excuses, by criticizing missing assignments, playing out of position, etc., etc. He never admits that there might be a problem with his scheme. It seems that, if only the players did what we tell them everything would be allright. I think the LBs and secondary are probably doing what they're supposed to, but why are there receivers open in huge areas with nobody on the D near them? I suspect it might be poor scheme and poor defensive calls. Part of our problem, perhaps a very big part, is that our talent is very average. Even a super blue chip recruit like Chick is really a very ordinary player. A great guy to have, gives it his all, but he doesn't remind me of a Kevin Patrick or Rusty Medearis, or a Danny Stubbs or Greg Mark coming off the edge to make a sack. I dunno, maybe the game has changed and I don't understand it much now. When JJ was here, we always played a very basic 4-3 and just emphasized pressure, pressure, pressure, forcing plays. Nothing fancy. When Sonny Lubick ran it, it was still the same basic thing, although he threw in a few wrinkles like that special defense the Bears used to run during their great Buddy Ryan teams of the late '80's.

I've seen all I need to see to know golden is not gonna get us where we need to be. He should still get his 4th year but I wouldn't expect much from him.

Also... he watched 3 Temple games? hmmmmmm

OHHHHH and no mention of their scholarship issue early on. Golden overcame that and was competitive in year 4 and 5. Period.

Bobby Wallace was the coach at Temple before Golden. Wallace is white.

After Duke and VT my doubts about the staff became reality.... I came in a little optimistic as the season got closer because I'm a fan. Last night just reaffirmed my beliefs from the last 6 games last year.
