His DL was the driving force behind this championship run.
The best edge tandem in Miami history is the obvious one but it's the growth out of Moten, Lightfoot, Blount and Scott. I've never seen one unit improve like this over the course of one season.
Add to that, we add Wilson, Davis and Carter and get back Lowe.
This is old school Bama/UGA depth that's no exaggeration.
D Lewis get a ton of credit as well.

Two questions: who breaks out next year to stardom?
I already said I think Lightfoot goes top 15 next year. Can't teach that bend, closing speed and violence.

How the fvck do we keep Taylor long term?

I actually think he's really happy here!

Money isnt the driving force with him as he made millions playing in the NFL. Isnt his wife a Miami native, so she isnt in a hurry to go anywhere and from everything you see online, him and his family love it here.

I hope he's here for as long as Mario is, which is until retirement :-)

Hopefully he stays away from the Fins

**** you man, now we are definitely losing him to the league

Lightfoot for sure, watching him next to Bain and Mesidor and Moten he didn’t look out of place and he added a dimension the other guys didn’t. In the playoffs I kept thinking how is this guy everywhere? Blount and Scott will ball out. Lowe will be an amazing player for us. But Lightfoot is up next.

Your thread title scared the chitt out of me.
You're spot on, though.

I don't know Taylor at all, but I get the feeling he is not the type that will have desire
to relocate from soFla for another gig, college or pro.
We can assume he is financially set and doesn't need to work the remainder of his
life if he so desires (again, assumptions).
The only concern is, as Caneworld noted, the Dolphins, especially since Hafley has connections
with Wannstedt.
Otherwise, not much we can do as Taylor is doing this gig because he likes it, not because
he has mouths to feed, a family to provide for, etc.

Gotta take an L out here in front of everyone. I wanted a clean sweep of the d staff after that abomination that cost us a ship in '24.

I was wrong, 100% believe any rumblings of Taylor and Guidry not seeing eye to eye. I just hope no NFL teams come a knocking

We're going to be like the early 2000's Canes D-Line. I remember watching TV broadcasts that would show the 2 deep when they were showing the starters at the beginning of games. Don't remember seeing that for any other teams, but all our players were balling out and making plays.

DE Wilson - Lowe - Lightfoot - Davis/Scroggins III
DT Moten - Scott - Blount - Carter

I think too many on here look at Lightfoot and think he can't be an every down player.
First, I don't think we're ever gonna see a set of ends set the edge like Bain and Mesi. Elite in every phase.
But I saw two things that gave me hope for Lightfoot down the stretch. One was he started to learn how to bend, not lose momentum and finish. He did this all over the playoffs.
Second was he started to play with power. He rocked that Indiana RB so hard that it surprised him and he stopped for a second. That right there shows me he has the power and explosiveness. He just needs to get a little more heavy-handed and put on a few more pounds.
You can still use him all over the place, but he's an every down player on the defensive line moving forward.
