Jarren Williams

Sorry - I can't forget what Perry did last year. He played in just about every game except LSU and ended up worse than Rosier stat wise. Zero consistency.
6/24 for 52 yards in a complete game.
5/16 for 35 yards, looked terrible against GT.
1/5 for 2 yards.
The 2 picks @ Virginia.
You can blame it on the coaching but a lot of his throws were on him. He had plenty of opportunities and Manny witnessed all of them last year.
I see Williams and Martel as 1A and 1B heading into fall and Perry taking Weldon's place.

This. I’ve seen enough of Perry. The guy simply makes bad decisions. There were a handful of times last season when I actually wanted Rosier back in the game because although they both couldn’t complete a pass, Rosier’s legs gave us a better chance to win. And for the record, I thought Rosier was the worst UM QB I have ever seen. Perry should get the chance to win the job, but if he wins it, I think we are in for another long season

What's pathetic is that anyone who went to LAST years spring game could easily see the short comings of Perry and Rosier compared to JW. Everyone there saw it minus 2 guys with the same last name,.

There are other intangibles also. Everybody talks about how Williams was demoralized last year. Likewise, Perry had to grow comfortable with losing a game. Those two have mental hurdles to overcome because of last year.

No dog in the hunt hence why to me it’s still anyone’s game at QB, as well as numerous other positions sans the LB corps. I just haven’t seen enough of any of the 3 to pick a side as of yet especially after 2 weeks of Spring ball. Let’s see how they fare in what hopefully will be an entertaining Spring game on 4/20. Entertaining meaning the QB’s doing well in Enos’ offense. It’s going to be imperative that one of them starts separating themselves from the rest of the pack to me as it will start to clear up the picture somewhat as well as showing a leader beginning to emerge at the helm of our offense. I’m not saying one needs to be announced after the 4/20 game, but I’d like to have some confidence in 1-2 of them to start the separation necessary for the offense to start clicking at a better clip than what we endured last season.

A Manny Diaz quote from a few weeks ago:
“It is really hard to prepare three quarterbacks. Once you come out of training camp and you have a one and a two, the third guy isn’t getting many reps.”

Makes me think they’ll narrow the QB race to a top 2 after spring. May lead to a transfer?

I personally think Richt liked Williams more than Perry, but yet Perry played a lot more. There are a ton of assumptions/conclusions that can be drawn from that, but the simple fact remain, Williams did not appear to be able to beat Perry or Rosier out.

As we know, each QB has a clean slate under Diaz. I am looking forward to seeing him in person on 04/20, even if it's just the spring game.
It’s been reported a number of times, most recently in that article last week about JW, that richt wasn’t letting him play as a freshman regardless. Jarren said that’s why he wanted to transfer... because richt refused to let him compete for the job.
