Jarren Williams

Not to defend Richt, but Kaaya looked pretty decent his final year. Even completed 60+%. Just sayin....it goes both ways. A good QB would've made the offense look better than it was.
Gawd Kaaya should have stayed... if y’all dont remember he was OKAY the first 7 games that year, and really put it together last few games.

Far from the same situations. The offense had already checked out last season. No TE's and Thomas leaving and no AR.

You had the drop kings out there trying too catch balls.

He was OK the first 5 games IMO, but He wasn't that good vs UNC,UND, & VT to me...Richt's play-calling certainly didn't help em' out in the UNC & VT games.

And I agree, He was one of, if not the hottest QB in the Country at the end of 16'.

If Kosi is starting, that means he bust his *** off and the coaches feel he's prepared to lead the team. The same goes for JW as well as Tate.
Kosi should be given the same benefit of the doubt as any other QB that is competing for the starting gig! I look forward to watching him and the other two, compete at a high level over the next few months leading up to fall camp!

Honestly it may have even been the last 2 games...I just remember feeling he was over hyped all year then put it together at the end... I was at the West Virginia bowl game and it was probably his best game and thought he was finally as advertised... but he and TE Herndon we’re finally clicking too.. based on what has happened in NFL Herdon was a heck of a safety blanket Kayaa finally utilized at end of season and may have made him look better,,,

When Richt allowed our offense to go spread, and play with some tempo(which happened late in the 1st half of that bowl game and much of the 2nd half), it was a much different looking offense. When prehistoRicht kept insisting on going I formation and running on early downs, it stifle he offense

No QB under the previous staff. Would've done **** last season. Him getting snaps with 6 plays to choose from. Wouldn't have made him anymore ready for this coming season. The offense had done checked out.

If he is the QB that many on here think he is. Then wtf does UF being his 1st start have to do with anything. If he wins this job. He should be battle tested and capable of performing up to the opposing team level.

This is big time football. Get the butterfly's out in the 1st couple of drives and get into the groove. This game will set the tone for our QB and the rest of the season.

I don't care if he lost all 4 games, last year was **** anyway. It is the experience that he needed.

''WTF does UF being 1st start have to do with anything'' You've got to be kidding right? They are by far the best team we play on our schedule. I have bet CF for 30 years one of the first things I look for is a first year QB playing a good Defense and bet against them. It's pretty much a home game for them too. It matters!

Most of the time first year QB's playing their first game away against a good D don't play as well as they should. Our Offensive line is still suspect. I would have played him last year the other two sucked.

That's not what it means to me. IMO, it means the other two are worse than him, he won't be starting. I have never bet against Miami because they're my team. But if they weren't if Kosi was starting I'd be all over that game, I don't like the way he plays, simple as that.

I remain Clueless? First off Williams never quit on the team, and only thought of Transferring at the end of the season. Second, Calvin I never said Jarren should start, What I don't get is you've got a Hard-on for Williams but you never questioned why Richt started N'Kosi? Do you have a problem with Diaz bringing back Jeff Thomas and Thomas more than likely will start at WR after he Walked out on the Team?
I believe that when it first came out, he was against us bringing back Thomas and he was also against taking kids from the portal. Quitters, crybabies - something like that is how he saw them.

All experience isn't good experience.

Had he got tossed in with an offense that already quit. No AR, Jordan, Mallory, Thomas and the Richts tutelage. He could've been mentally destroyed. The way it is now. Diaz has surrounded him with solid coaching and added experienced weapons. Along with quality competition for the starting spot. He has no bad habits nor is he seeing DL in his sleep.

UF being the 1st game means nothing. You can build them up all you want. We got weapons and we got a defense just as good or not better than what they've got . They have questions on the OL and their defense has depth issues. If these QB's we got are truly pushing themselves and
each other. Plus going up against our D. IDC if we're playing UF and it could be in the swamp. I like our QB chances. Whether it's Martell, Williams or Perry.

Mentally destroyed? LMAO He practiced against Miami's D every day I doubt he was mentally destroyed, stop! How do you know he has no bad habits?

I'm not building them up, I'm being realistic. Whether you like it or not they were a better team than we were last year. We got crushed by LSU they beat them by 8. Our best D player is gone, it showed against WI. Me personally, I'd like a QB with a little experience under his belt.

LOL, man, you cant be serious, you said "first off, williams never quit on the team" so the question has to be asked, what is your definition of quitting, cause its obvious either you dont know that jarren had to be talked to not once but twice about transferring or your definition of quitting should be interesting. And nobody in their right mind had to question or wonder why coach richt started kosi. As far as jeff thomas goes, he quit too, which is why you didnt see some players worried about him leaving except some of the other wideouts. I dont deal with the wishy washy ones to well, you're either All Cane or you're not, nobody has to convince a True Cane to stay.

I wasnt worried at all about jeff thomas when he left, neither were alot of his teammates.

VT was pretty much a throw out game imo. Third time playing in 12 nights, Thursday night on the road in that environment, coming off two heartbreaking losses with a defense that was all banged up.

I thought he got really hot in the second half of that Irish game and played well before the monsoon hit against UNC.

Posters are correct. Had he come back we have a much better season.

It seems that Perry has offended every man whose girl is freaking off on him. Get over it dudes, life goes on. You don't like his game or anything about him bc what he did hurt ur feelings; you can't let go...well inspite of your painful emotions, Perry is a bonified 4* talents. Led by the Richts, he didn't live up to the billing but i still saw his upside. So with a clean slate and more competent oc/qb coach, Perry has as good a chance as any other to show what he's got and take the job. That doesn't necessarily mean Tate or JW can't ball; It's a competition, the decision will be tough but someone will come away as qb1.
