Jarren Williams

Calvin you keep Contradicting yourself

Who said anything about starting Williams last year?? Can you read?? Maybe if Richt managed the QB's better, Williams wouldn't have even thought about transfering!!! No. I understood why he started Rosier. I keep asking why he ever started N'Kosi & why didn't Jarren get any playing time? So N'Kosi Earned the Starting QB Job with all his Foolishness off the Field??

Like I said, why not put Jarren in vs. VTech, for the 4th quarter when we were comfortably ahead 38-14? And why not play him vs. Pitt, we were 6-5 and we were Bowl Eligible and we weren't going to a Major Bowl game? Though the PinStripe Bowl was a Nice consolation prize.

Apparently you want to remain clueless, go back and reread what i posted, otherwise, carry on!

WHAT?! C'mon bruh.....How the **** you come up with that? I'm not trying to start a fight. From all reports, the QB's have all taken similar number of first team reps. Didn't Nkosi get the first reps in the 11 on 11, the first day? I think you're reading something into the situation, that's not there.
IM WITH WHOEVER THE COACHES PICK, BUT WHEN YOU HAVE PEOPLE FROM YOUR CAMP SAYING WE WILL SEE HOW THE SPRING GOES. THAT DOESNT SOUND SUSPECT AT ALL? LIKE YOURE LEAVING THE DOOR OPEN TO LEAVE OF THINGS DONT DONT GO YOUR WAY. SO TO CONBAT THAT THE COACHES MAYBE MAKING SURE TO PUT HIM IN THE FOREFRONT. IM NOT SAYING HE DIDNT OR WONT EARN IT, BUT COACHES HEAR THINGS AS WELL.

Two thoughts here:

1). Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Right? I'm sure the Richt's told Jarren that he'd be given a shot to compete last year. I can understand why he'd be hesitant when a guy from Richts staff tells him the same thing.

2). The way I read into that comment is not that he needs to be anointed by the end of April or he's going to transfer. I take it that he needs to think, feel and see that he is truly being given a shot to win the job. If that's truly the case then he'll stick around.
I'm in the frame of mind. That his HS coach needs to worry more about his current team and less about trying to be JW agent.

Kid should’ve played in 4 games last year at a minimum. It was a travesty how they handled him.

In the end all I want is a true competition and of that means it’s Williams, Tate, or Kosi so be it.
It's best they just left him on the sideline. He wouldn't have changed the outcome of anything. That offense last season was just pure **** and this fan base would've really ran him off.

Williams has talent and he may become the starter this season. I just glad the Richts didn't toss him out into that **** hole. They called an offense.

I remain Clueless? First off Williams never quit on the team, and only thought of Transferring at the end of the season. Second, Calvin I never said Jarren should start, What I don't get is you've got a Hard-on for Williams but you never questioned why Richt started N'Kosi? Do you have a problem with Diaz bringing back Jeff Thomas and Thomas more than likely will start at WR after he Walked out on the Team?

Remember when Richt didn't know what down it was? Some coordinators are playing chess, planning each play out to add in a wrinkle later on, with a distinct plan on each play. Richt didn't even know what down it was and just calls in one of his 8 plays quickly after he wakes up from his day dream.

Orchestrated the worst passing offense Miami has had in over 20 years. That’s why I’m not particularly ethused about Perry in the race and why I want to go more with the unknown ala Jarren or martell. Not going to write him off but bad system or not I didn’t like the way he played last year. And the off the field concerns/dedication to being a qb are still very real. I don’t think he works on his craft as much as Williams or martell honestly. I mean He had a golden opportunity and didn’t take advantage of it last year. That’s pretty **** concerning if you ask me
**** what happened 20 years ago

So you'd rather start him against Florida the first game of the year without one snap under his belt in a real game? Not me! Even with that offense a good qb should have hit at least 55% of his passes.

If Kosi is starting next year we are in trouble in that first game.

No QB under the previous staff. Would've done **** last season. Him getting snaps with 6 plays to choose from. Wouldn't have made him anymore ready for this coming season. The offense had done checked out.

If he is the QB that many on here think he is. Then wtf does UF being his 1st start have to do with anything. If he wins this job. He should be battle tested and capable of performing up to the opposing team level.

This is big time football. Get the butterfly's out in the 1st couple of drives and get into the groove. This game will set the tone for our QB and the rest of the season.

Ain't he running 3rd behind Kosi and Jarren right now?

Food for thought.....
If Williams is the man and named the starter, I think Tate stays and does not transfer again. Not sure if he can. Perry transfers eventually.
If Perry is the starter, Tate stays and Williams transfers but if Tate is the starter both Perry and Williams transfer? I hope that is not the case but at the end, I only want players who want to be here.
I think that is a very good assesment 🤘🏼

I'm not saying that this actually happened - and hopefully someone with more knowledge can clarify - but along with the 30 lbs of weight gain, what if Jarren Williams had mentally checked out by the second half of the season after not getting his shot. If you are Mark Richt, do you play a quarterback who is in that state?
Ill give you that... it’s easy to say Williams should have played more but he admitted the weight gain during season which would suggest he was not “in the game” mentally... kind of like Richt unintentionally boxed himself in with perry and rosier... I really don’t think Richt a bad coach, but boxed himself in with hiring his son, and deciding to ride or die with the people he hired... there are worse things a coach can do, and Richt at least deserved to make that choice. I’m just glad he did right thing when it didn’t work without dragging it out.

Not to defend Richt, but Kaaya looked pretty decent his final year. Even completed 60+%. Just sayin....it goes both ways. A good QB would've made the offense look better than it was.
