Agreed, after we lost the Virginia game. Prior to that we’re 5-1, and in theory would be favored to win out and get back to the ACC title game against Clemson with the same record as last year. So CMR sticks with the plan.Only problem is once Nkosi struggled and Rosier played like garbage he should have been given an opportunity.
After Virginia...here are my thoughts of what CMR might have been thinking:
1) CMR now knows the NC possibility is gone, but he can still make the ACC title game. So he rolls with Rozier. Jarren has no real game time experience and we cannot afford another loss, so he stays conservative. Plan remains to play Jarren the final three games of the year. As it is, we have to wait until Week 11(!) to get a bowl qualifying victory, so Jarren gets no consideration.
2) Is Jarren skulking in the second half of the year? Is so, perhaps this lowers the impetus to play him in Week 12. Then word gets out that he wants to transfer. Does Richt waste resources on someone whose heart is no longer in the program (even though Jon talked him out of it)?
