Jarren Williams

Only problem is once Nkosi struggled and Rosier played like garbage he should have been given an opportunity.
Agreed, after we lost the Virginia game. Prior to that we’re 5-1, and in theory would be favored to win out and get back to the ACC title game against Clemson with the same record as last year. So CMR sticks with the plan.

After Virginia...here are my thoughts of what CMR might have been thinking:
1) CMR now knows the NC possibility is gone, but he can still make the ACC title game. So he rolls with Rozier. Jarren has no real game time experience and we cannot afford another loss, so he stays conservative. Plan remains to play Jarren the final three games of the year. As it is, we have to wait until Week 11(!) to get a bowl qualifying victory, so Jarren gets no consideration.
2) Is Jarren skulking in the second half of the year? Is so, perhaps this lowers the impetus to play him in Week 12. Then word gets out that he wants to transfer. Does Richt waste resources on someone whose heart is no longer in the program (even though Jon talked him out of it)?

Richt mishandled the whole QB situation!!! Jarren could've played in 4 games and still Red Shirted, and that would've been best for Jarren and the team. So, it made more sense to play Kosi, even though he was a huge Distraction during the year? When The U was up 38-14 going into the 4th quarter vs. Vtech, why not give Jarren some badly needed playing time for Experience? Why not play him against Pitt? We were 6-5 eligible for a Bowl Game, If we had lost vs. Pitt would it have made much of a difference? He would've still been eligible to RedShirt and he could've played in the PInStripe Bowl and still be eligible!!! The week before the PinStripe Bowl N'Kosi posted that SnapChat *** Video and he winds up playing in the game buit Jarren should be Disciplined for being upset for never Seeing the Field???

That's what you call Managing your Roster?? That's Mismanagement
Again, at that point it may have come down to Jarren appearing disinterested to Richt. And if so, CMR sits him. Trying to think of a logical reason, and that’s possibly one.

Richt's handling of the QB position this season was one of the most obvious cases of coaching malpractice that I've ever seen. I just don't understand it from someone as experienced and respected as Richt, didn't then and don't now. Its not a "Richtirement" thing either.

I hope somebody F**** M. Richt up! I literally went from liking Richt when he came here to now I can't even stand hearing his name. 1 step up from Fat AL

I'm not saying that this actually happened - and hopefully someone with more knowledge can clarify - but along with the 30 lbs of weight gain, what if Jarren Williams had mentally checked out by the second half of the season after not getting his shot. If you are Mark Richt, do you play a quarterback who is in that state?

Excellent article. Didnt like this line though...

"He took Coach Diaz for his word that he'd have a clean slate, a fair shot to win the job", Wofford (high school coach) said. "So, he wants to give it a shot through Spring".

Give it a shot "through Spring"?!? So he is already in the mindset that if he doesn't win the starting job he is out? I sure hope not as it takes one hit for a #2 to become the guy, and if Tate gets the nod, Id rather have Williams as 2 than any of the others. I dont know any other way to interpret that quote though. Then again, theres a strong chance a starter is not decided on by the end of Spring.

Of course he should transfer if he doesn't win the job (I believe he does to be clear). Why the **** would a kid with his potential settle for backup just because? If Martell or Perry win they have multiple years left and he should absolutely enter the portal.

First off... I’m glad Richt is gonzo and was praying for Jarren in the bowl game to get some time in the game.

However, I was wondering this as well and maybe dsd can chime in with what he knows. When did Jarren get suspended again? And anyone know when he started to put on the extra weight (I’m assuming it became noticeable at some point mid season).

I was wondering if after not getting play after the Virginia debacle... he noticed that Richt was too stubborn and wasn’t going to play him anytime soon. Then he starts chowing and gets suspended along the way and is fed up by end of season and wants out of dodge.

Someone needs to educate me on the timeline of events, but I think that potentially Jarren not playing towards the end of the year might have been a little but on him for being out of shape potentially (or at least in the eyes of ol Richt).

Regardless.. may the best QB win and take us to da promise land!

GO CANES!
Josh

I’m good with whoever Enos picks. I have no favorites at QB. I want the best guy out there. I’m just tired of the transfer talk.

I am a bit bias. I hope Tate and Williams prove to be much better than Perry, cause that kid is a massive liability and it’s only a matter of time before he does some dumb **** again

I’m just glad we have an actual competition at the QB spot where an actual QB with talent will emerge as the starter no matter who wins the job.

Tired of us playing QB’s because they are the lesser of the evils (or less shtty than the others )instead of whose the best QB.

I’ll be happy with whomever comes out on top of the competition because whomever it is will be a pretty decent QB...jmo

WRONG, once again, why are you and those like you who think they know everything become a headcoach, im sure you ask the same dumb **** question when coach richt kept starting rosier, than later on yall found out why, cause perry doing immature stuff off the field. Do you think coach richt was playing games when he said he's not just going to hand the starting job over to anyone, they have to prove they want to be the qb. So now you should have already seen crybaby jarren saying he almost quit twice, you become a headcoach, does jarren sound like a guy you'd reward with the starting qb position by trying to use transferring out as a threat/leverage, we ok on this side

Harris threw 32 INTs under Whipple, only 9 under Fish.
[/QUOTE]

And 4 of them came in the same game and I think was LK that picked him off twice and one was a pick six so this guys gotta point

I'm pretty convinced this Calvin guy is related to Mark Richt or owes him favors. How anyone can constantly defend the level of incompetence Richt exhibited here is something I'd only expect out of Don Bailey Jr.
They say he's from the pork and beans projects. I'm starting to get the strong feeling he's the guy listening to the radio and rambling on at the corner of NW 12 Ave and 62 St.

BAAHAHAHAA! Perry meanwhile completed 31% of his passes in the last 6 games of the season.
