Jaquan and Berrios

Berrios could have had a career day over the middle of the field today. He broke open on post routes multiple times. One time, Rosier badly missed him coming toward the WEZ. Other times, he went to other WRs as Berrios was coming WIDE open. Luckily, we came back to it once for a TD to Harris.

I don't know if it's Rosier's erratic nature, Richt's unwillingness to risk with Rosier or a combination of both, but hope we don't leave yards and points down the middle of the field like that going forward.

For whatever reason, we coached this game like we did the Toledo game. Bare minimum of everything.
On defense, we trotted out an obscene amount of zone with 3 LBs.
On offense, we didn't even see 5WR looks against a team that couldn't hang.
Perhaps there's a method to the madness, but got a little too close for comfort in certain spots.
That was my take away as well. It was the same Toledo zone coverage that we had no business playing against UVA who doesn't have many players with speed. It was ****ing me off the whole game. Also on first down UVA was dearing us to go deep. I'm like why didn't we go max protect and test them deep. We never did that. These were some of the worst play calling I have seen all season in the first half. Players playing 10 yards back on 3rd and 2. It was ridiculous. No business calling such a passive game against UVA.

That Berrios catch for 24 yards was by and far one of the best catches of the year. I'm wondering how high the Patriots reach for Berrios in the draft, because you know Bill Belichick is going to get this kid.

RJ is borderline 1st round. Kid made a ton of money the last three games.

I haven't yelled as much at a no call on the Timeout 3 seconds after they clock expired that lead to a TD for UVA. In the replay, coach for UVA is 8 yards away and starts running after the 0 on the clock by at least 1-2 seconds. Was fuggin ****ed at that no call giving them a TO.

The DBs proved me wrong. Again. I was cussing at them at the half. These guys are pretty **** good. I still like Redwine a ton, kid has heart.

Big time players making big time plays. Pretty impressive that we can score 44 points on a solid team and people think we played poor. 10-0 fellas.

Yeah apparently we 'gutted out a close win' against UVA. That's when you know you're back.

Disruption is production. Find me a better DT in college football. He's an easy 1st rounder.

I still think 'Honey Nut' is underused....

Could easily have 10 catches a game

How many balanced offenses have a WR making 10 catches a game? Keep it real.

Speaking purely on his skills and how often he's open. I know it would never happen in this offensive system + Malik often reading one side of the field

Austin, this is WAAAAAAAY before your time but in 89 in Dennis Erickson's first year at Miami and he brought his spread system, the slot WR(called the 'tailback') in this system was a guy by the name of Wesley Carroll and he was money and there were games he'd have 8, 9, 10 grabs. Berrios would've abolutely thrived in that system and with QB's like Craig Erickson...

And if he manages to draft his way to New England it will be amazing for his bank account! He is amazing in and out of his breaks and in that offense he would get a LOT of looks...

apfenny3 did you see this season coming? And if you didn't do you wish you stayed around for it? Good having you around bro!

We're all this excited about the season partly because of an option route Berrios ran against FSU in the last series of the game. Huge play. Waiting to see it at another big moment. Perhaps, on December 2nd.

I certainly didn't and I think the general thought was we'd probably lose 2 and make it to the ACC championship, and the following year more likely for a playoff run. I'd do anything to go back.

Well, just think of it like this young man. Hindsight is always 20/20 and you make the best choice you can at the time the choice has to be made. Thanks for your contribution to the team and this board. Between that and some of the absolutely hilarious jokes that have gone around about your future in adult film, etc. you have been bot entertaining and insightful. Hope you keep coming around!

Thank you I appreciate it. Can't change the past, just need to learn from this and make the most out of it. This board is amazing and I hope to be posting for years to come.

No one who is honest saw this coming this year

JJ AND BERRIOS ARE GOING PRO... THE SCOUTS HAVE JJ @ 1ST OR 2ND ROUND EASY... I JUST HOPE CLEVELAND DOESN'T DRAFT ANY MIAMI PLAYERS...

I love JJ but that's just not realistic. JJ needs to come back and continue to mature and master the finer points of the position. He may not have the best measurables but JJ is as tough and smart as the come, a natural leader with the heart of a lion. JJ will have a long and productive NFL career. He will find a way to make his presence felt in at least one key aspect of the game. He will be missed when he leaves.

I am 100% convinced there is a method to the madness. Never once, did I waiver on it being to close for comfort today though. Not even after the second 14 point lead. No way in **** were these boys losing to vag. NONE.

Thing is, I never saw any panic from coaches or players either.

This team is now learning to win with the X on their back. Couldn't ask for anything better IMO. Great experiences.
