I suspect this will be an EPIC portal weekend. Only question is will Mario keep all the visitors silent and we only find out who visited/committed after the Championship game?

Mario, please lift the embargo now

I think he should keep it silent. Nothing to distract what this team is trying to do. No kid on the current team needs to think about someone coming in for their position next year. Recruit the guys we need but hold off announcing until after the game
I hear you but that’s unrealistic.

I just don't expect to hear much. I think it'll be hard to keep some of this quiet since they'll be at the Hecht and people have eyes, but I know they'll continue to try to keep it silent since we're playing for the 'ship.

Hopefully everyone here realizes this and doesn't freak out with the 'lack of info.'

Former Georgia tight end Pearce Spurlin is also expected to visit Miami this weekend. Before medically retiring in 2024 because of a congenital heart condition, Spurlin underwent successful open-heart surgery in August and has since been fully cleared to return to football.

Mario on the radio this morning. Doesn't sound like there will be any public release of info. Up at 6AM (Pacific time) doing an interview (says he hasn't slept yet, breaking down film already).

"We're very selective...need to find players that are the right fit...we're right where we want to be"
I guess Mario doesn’t agree w PTizzly, all American member on the Caneinsight message board. Thankfully we have adults running our program

It’s the correct approach. I want to hear about guys who will be with us next year as much as anyone else but I’m also not 10 anymore. I can be patient here and know that Mario knows what he’s doing and has this program primed to win multiple championships in the future

Agents have zero incentive to keep visits secret unless it’s a player who just wants Miami. Expect a lot of info to start leaking soon.

Cheap, but potentially good ceiling with experience at this level and years left doesn't sound so bad. Maybe he has a chip on his shoulder after his time off and can be a grown man at this point.

HS Scouting report (#5 TE on composite):
Verified 6-foot-6 216 pound athlete that possesses a 81 inch wingspan and 33 inch arms to go along with excellent athleticism for someone his stature. Exceptional catch radius that he utilizes always to his advantage. Good frame and build to add weight and mass in a well proportioned manner. Also, has very good ball skills where he does an excellent job tracking the ball and running through to make various catches at different catch points including high-pointing 50/50 balls. He is a smooth player that’s very fluid in his movement skills along with good change of direction. Does a good job of releasing off the ball whether he is in the slot or out wide, very good with his feet gaining ground before he releases into his route pattern when he is pressed by the defensive back. Can drop his weight well to get in and out of his breaks without having to throttle down. He has no problem going across that middle and making tough catches in traffic. The multi-sport athlete who also plays basketball where he averages 11 points and 7 rebounds has a high ceiling to continue an upward trajectory. He is not asked to line up in the core and be an in-line blocker so that will be an area of focus once he gets to college. As he gets physically stronger it will only benefit his explosiveness and overall ability.
