For the sake of some of our brethren Cane who have no idea about this site and are unwittingly trapped in a world of out-dated and slow reported misinformation you almost wish those other sites would so they would at least be close to the mark, but alas Cane I think some are just going to continue to be sensational to sell subscriptions or earnestly just be outside of the loop and get it wrong.

All the other Cane recruiting gurus are gonna copy Pete's percentages, change them by a couple of points, and add some made up commentary.

He is a great talent man he is. But duke is gonna be a soph. By the time Clements graduate we would replace him with Sony/cook/insert big time 305 rb here. Collins would be a good pull, but if he went to Arkansas we wouldn't miss him IMO.

I'm late on this reply so I don't know what has been discussed beyond this post, but here are my thoughts.

You are correct that we will be able to replace Clements with a freshman RB in Cook or Sony...however the issue I have is that they'll be freshmen, and with that comes a high degree of unpredictability. I know they will be one of the top RBs in the nation coming out of high school, and we all expect them to come in full beastmode and run all over everyone in the country, but those expectations can sometimes be unrealistic. We have been spoiled by what Duke has been able to do...not many T.F.'s can duplicate what he has done in their first year of college football. I'd rather have Collins to come right in and we won't lose a beat...while the youngsters can learn the ropes.

Either way I think we will be ok, but Collins in this class is as big a pickup as anyone else IMO.

Shouldn't that same logic - high degree of unpredictability for freshman - also apply to Collins?

im on the golden bandwagon, but if we lose a few, who do we plug in? dt has seven this year, five next year

Yes it would...but Collins will be a sophomore by the time Clements graduates. See how it works is every new season you add another year to the player's eligibility. For instance, Collins will be a "freshman" next year. The following season he moves up to become a "sophomore". That year Sony and Cook would become "freshman".

Let me know if you need anymore help. I'm good with numbers and will be here the rest of the day.

All the while people forget we have Crawford and Dillard on the roster. Will be interesting to see how they develope under a good coaching staff.

This! I wonder if Dillard has Bernard Pierce type potential, or atleast mike james potential

Pretty much what I expected. Love seeing Thomas at 80%. Guess his mom got nasty diahrrea from Guthries and doesnt like Tallahassee anymore

You shut your mouth about Guthrie's!

This!

No offense to anyone enamored with Collins but I would take Edwards over Collins any day!

Weak *** troll attempt.

I still think Dallas never should have been moved to RB. Kid was a ballhawking DB.

Say what? Crawford AT BEST showed an occasional flash that he had some potential, I dont know how you can say he was balling out at DB before he got moved. Most of what we heard was "Greentree All American" type sh*t from him.

Also, Im ok with the move, if you remember, Damien Berry was a DB who got moved to RB also, and that worked out pretty well for us. With the young bucks we got in the backfield now, and guys like Carter and Burns coming in, if Crawford can be servicable at RB, Id rather have him there. The cupboard is pretty bare behind Duke.

Exactly what I am hoping for. Bryant needs to go to FSU and lament his choice for the next 4 years.

I've never done predictions before because I'm not an insider and only "know" what I glean from media sources like, for example, this one, but here is my opinion of who we land come signing day.

Matthew Thomas
Alex Collins
Bostwick
Grace
Stacy Coley
Denver Kirkland
Augustus Edwards

That should give us a full 85 scholarship players
We have 68 on Scholarship including White, Thompson and Finnie. I'm not counting Thompson as I'm thinking he's on a baseball scholarship and like Latwan Anderson won't count against football until he actually plays.
Knock those three guys out and leaves us with 65 with the ability to add 20.

I don't include Bryant with the guys I think we get because I honestly think the coach's are ambivalent towards him.
Yes or no, they seem to be OK either way. Golden doesn't strike me as the type of coach who will shower a recruit with "love," and the recruits
who need to be shown the love don't seem to be our kind of guys anyway.

The one guy I wish we would get also is that Aussie Punter. I haven't exactly watched a lot of tape on punters ever but found myself drawn to his like a moth to the flame. That boy can kick, and there isn't a single person on our current roster I've seen who can kick a ball, Goudis included.
