Bostwick and Bryant would not play or contribute much next year, I don't think. Unless you're some freak of nature like Clowney, haven't we seen it's tough for a true freshman, at 18 years old, to bang it on the d line with guys who have two years of physical maturity and collegiate weight training on their side?
Hooks was probably the most important recruit from the stand point of both our need and his ability to quickly contribute. I'd say a guy like Bond, who comes already assembled and ready to go from JUCO, will be huge because of how poorly we got to the QB. I can see Grace on passing downs getting time at LB because he's a ****ing wizard in coverage. Thomas is a big dude and would probably see increased snaps as the year goes on and he learns the game.
But Collins..... Collins affords us the luxury to come at teams in waves and not skip a beat. If we really want to be back and not just fool ourselves, we need to have that 2-deep of absolute studs and game changers all over the place. Not one All-American and a handful of bodies. Bama was throwing Lacy and Yeldon at defenses and it wasn't fair. He'd see 10-12 carries a game behind a veteran OL and he'd make a huge impact. Collins is another step in getting us back to the times where opposing fans say "god **** their backups are better than the starters."
