He has played really great this season. I think he's even cut down on his usual 15 yard personal foul/unsportsmanlike conduct foul every game, although he had one last night. My frustration with him is when he makes that low effort shoulder tackle on a play that results in the opponent scoring a TD, or a first down which continues the drive.

No, he clearly didn't cost us the game, not even close, but he has to do better as our leader on D when the going gets tough.

Sure as the NFL is about potential. I'm not sure that coming back helps him much and the questions they'll have about his position likely won't be answered. He could cut down on mental mistakes, but the flipside is that it could also hurt him as the defense is playing rather well. The next few games will determine all of it for him.

Find another Safety with as much film as his mid season highlight tape
 
James is a beast!! Plays balls to the wall and sets the tone for the game on defense!! He makes mistakes yes, but he makes them going 100 miles an hour. He’s constantly in on a play. It’s not like a Brown bro being on the field as a walking PI flag every time. I don’t have a problem with the “horse collar” flag because he readjusted and grabbed the player on both sides of his shoulder and threw him into a new universe cleanly. NFL wouldn’t have thrown that flag. James isn’t perfect, Kam isn’t perfect, Leonard isn’t perfect, but all of those guys are **** good players and are the least of our problems.
 
As a 3rd year guy, I’d like him to be more mature. Not sure, but I think be blew the coverage on the first TD. At times he is very undisciplined and we saw that on their last TD. The game is not to tally kill shots, not sure he knows that. Wonderful talent, this will cost him $$.

James Williams is gonna be baller in the NFL, every single thing that he showing proves this. With real coaching stability, a mature environment, accountability and capable teammates where if he does his assignment and job well he’ll be successful. He is gonna thrive in that setting.

His biggest issue is that he expects others to bring his level of passion and urgency to the table. He has to learn that it won’t always happen and how to deal with that.
