At Safety he's not elite...
At LB he'd be an elite talent. (as far as size and speed)
@Coach Macho Post more. You call it like you see it. I appreciate that. Given your position, your insight is welcome. At some point y'all are gonna start believing Macho about these kids, man.
I told y'all when he was coming out of high school, HE DOESN'T LIKE TO TACKLE.
"You're crazy Macho! He's a 6'5" 230lb 5-star bro!"
I watched Parrish embarrass him countless times on his way to 250 yards rushing during Western's playoff game versus Columbus. He had absolutely no interest in tackling that kid.
He's an "opportunistic tackler" and will only hit people who don't see him coming.
Some guys are very bad tacklers in the open field and they do better in close quarters. That might apply to Williams. Only problem here is, his a$$ doesn't want to play Linebacker. He truly believes he's a Safety. He even purposely prevented himself from gaining weight so that he could stay back there. He must not want an NFL check.
I hope the staff stops catering to his bullsh!t and tells him to play LB or hit the portal. He's not giving us anything at Safety anyway. (plus I heard he ain't the easiest kid to coach)
I think a lot of y'all underestimate the level of BS (from the Manny era) that this new staff has to deal with.
Ray Ray had a decent career in the league as a LB tooRemember all the folks who said Ray Ray Armstrong was a safety and not a LB. Same deal with JW. Ray Ray was a better athlete though.
You have a short memory. Gurvan Hall says HiMaybe the worst tackler I’ve ever seen in the Orange and Green

Ray Ray was a striker with a much bigger lower body who liked to hit...not the same deal.Remember all the folks who said Ray Ray Armstrong was a safety and not a LB. Same deal with JW. Ray Ray was a better athlete though.
2 words...Deion SandersAre we still debating, moving a player that has no desire to tackle, to any position of defense? Last I remember, tackling was the main objective of playing defense. 1 of 2 building blocks of football. blocking and tackling.
Pretty obvious after a walk on (Ragone) can diagnose a play and tell him where to go and he just brushes him off. Of course the TD happened right where JW should have been.

You're not wrong in what you're saying but at 6'5 James absolutely needs weight.... He's still very slender for his size...But yes I do agree with the things you're saying...He doesnt have enough striking ability to play full time backer.
A DC would have to play him as a swiss army knife..he fits mannys scheme or a rovers scheme.
Just telling him to gian weight to play lb aint it...you have to have want to mix it up in the trenches and that aint his skill set ...i mean Keontra Smith yall packed weight on and say play LB and he looked like sh*t all year and he is a guy that played LB 4 years in high school.
Coach the kid up...he needs weight gain in his lower body...Blitz him more...3rd down package as a covg backer or spy or blitzing..thats what i would do
This is the guy i comped him too if he can get coached up the next 2 years at DB... James doesnt have his thump though but is more wiry...
There's no avoiding that though. He was playing deep safety a lot before the last two games. I don’t want him back there AT ALL lol
Yeah you're right. I'm just saying from an athletic standpoint he fits better at linebacker. But again, you're right. He won't mix it up in that box on a plate-to-play basis. He doesnt have enough striking ability to play full time backer.
