James Wiggins SR HL

Numbers? Good ball skills. Good balance. Can't really tell his speed or explosiveness from the video.

Don't know, but he looked like a solid 4.45 guy in person. I wanted to see if he was fast enough for corner and he passed the eye test.

That'd make him faster than Corn Elder (though we know Corn makes his $ in the short area quickness aspect). Is what we're working with? If so, awesome. He moved like a Safety to me, but I'm limited to video.

All I can say is that he was faster and bigger than I expected. I knew he was a coordinated athlete and baller going in.

If he can legitimately play CB, it changes things for the class. I'm amazed at our CB situation...again.

Looks like were battling Louisville according to coach..I like DBs who have WR experience....

This is true...

This kid reminds me of Rolle... Might be one of the greatest athletes I've coached. He can just about play any position on the field because of his size, speed, ball skills, strength etc. He's being recruited as an ATH for some schools... Bama wants him as a WR and Bearcats wants him as a corner. This kid is capable of playing anywhere in the secondary... But i definitely think he would excel as a corner just as Antrell Rolle did at the U and SD.

Is he solid?

Who would you guys say this years version is besides Wiggins? I say Stephen Newbold from Carol City. I know Geo and PropJoe like him. Cant ever go wrong with kid from Carol City right?

My guys:

Broward:
Thomas Geddis Jr. - Hudl
Thomas Geddis- 6'2-6'3 175 Pds. Reminds me of Stacy Coley in frame and size..hes taller. Not the same wiggle as Stacy..but he may have better lon speed. Plays against BIG TIME COMP as can see in highlights (Dillard,STA,Lakeland,Carol City)

SENIOR YEAR - Johnny Huntley highlights
Johnny Huntley- Big body wr. Catches everything. I think he is committed to Colorado. Kid can play. He is a steal for Colorado

I'd put him at safety, that's the kind of dude you want playing middle field that can cover a good bit of ground, has good hands, shows a good IQ from what the video showed

a definite take in a year where you need DBs

I see kid who can play CB in certain situations and then play FS in others. I'm a big, big fan of kids who can both cover in space and tackle.

One thing that gets lost so often with spread teams is how important it is to TACKLE against them. Their whole goal is to get you spread out and then take advantage of one-on-one matchups. If you build a secondary full of kids who can both cover and tackle, you will do quite well against spread teams.

It's just another reason I would beat my head against the wall every week watching Golden's defense. His plan was the exact opposite, only he was also passive. No one looks good in that scheme- no one.

I feel like a man who can finally come up for air and really say some of my true thoughts on what Golden was doing here.

I have zero problems with this kid... Looks like a Balla to me... Again, this is Dade county competition...

Definition of an underrated Miami baller. I saw him recently against Columbus and was impressed by his physical tools. He was bigger and faster than expected based on the last time I saw him as a sophomore.

This HL doesn't even include his best play. Against the West, his QB underthrew a deep ball that was intercepted. Wiggins snatched the ball back Honey Badger-style and took it to the crib.

This has been going on since Greg Threat and Kenny Phillips left.
