2026 James "JJ" Johnson 4* DT from Northwestern via Ft Myers Flips to Texas From UGA

It’s recruiting. I’ve learned to treat it like a game. We came back to beat Cal and blew a lead against Syracuse. We had momentum with JJ and then Georgia made a strong push.

I haven’t talked to anybody on this since yesterday but I’m sure we are pushing back and fighting. Probably will be like that until NSD.

Recruiting threads like Game Day threads…

This man is wild!

is strong push code for up bag dramatically

I’m just flabbergasted the top DT would go to the SEC. Crazy times.
It’s OSU, Michigan, Clemson, etc. Until Miami fixes this problem, we will not be “back.”

Unfortunately, D Lewis isn’t moving the needle (yet) and Mario doesn’t have a strong resume (yet) of sending kids to the league on the defensive line side. Very frustrating.

No team bats .1000 in landing every prospect they go after, they all miss.

Especially in the NIL era, there will be more misses than usual because negotiations are always an ongoing impending process.

It's really not that big of a deal.

Just wish we would've recruited Pierre Dean instead.

If this kid is actually from Newark, i’d expect him to go to whoever can show him the best proven track record of getting him drafted highly. Newark kids tend to not be big believers in change stories or unproven potential.

it’s why Rutgers always struggled to recruit Newark and the north jersey football powers (St. Peters, Bergen Catholic, Paramus Catholic, Delbarton). When coach hanson was at St. Peter’s, he’d rather send a kid to UVA or BC before Rutgers, because North Jersey isn’t big on “things are on the way up” stories

No doubt
And this was always the case, even when he was thought to be leaning to UM.

Is it time for the coaches to send the “Hey big head.” texts?
