James Franklin to VT...here comes the juice this week

Freeman already turned LSU down twice for their DC job. And, yes, many here wouldn’t want Freeman as HC which is why I believe he turned the job down twice. The race stuff is real when it comes to black and biracial men in leadership positions.
 
He must have been given some reassurances about Virginia Tech's long term plans, right?

Cos everyone thinks the ACC is going to be left behind / dissolved reasonably soon.
 
If nothing else, I question his mental acumen, he left 40mil on the table to take the VT job...excuse me? He must hate his wife!

The ACC changed that up (for the third or fourth time). Now, we're back to a 2-7-3 schedule starting probably in 2027. We play two permanent rivals (presumably FSU and Va Tech if we're all still in the ACC then), 7 rotating ACC schools, and 3 non-conference teams (one must be a power 4 or ND opponent). The big question now is how they're going to do this with an odd number of teams in the conference, but the plan so far is to have one school play only 8 conference games while every other team plays 9.

Correct me if I’m wrong. Think it’s a great fit and Franklin does well with evals. I thought techs issues go past coaching in the sense of having a healthy nil
