What do you expect the guy to say? If he was praising or defending Paterno or Sandusky, that would be a different matter, but he was talking about his fan base and community, who havent had much to cheer about lately.
 
Franklin left his Vandy job with a rape scandal and took safe harbor at a pederast enabling program. He owes homage to anyone who offered him a job. That ranks him at the bottom of the morality and ethics chart.

The fanbase who defended Paterno and his handling of the Sandusky situation can all drop dead. That's one fanbase that deserves 100% to suffer.

Obviously the victims of abuse come first, but I assume he wasn't really saying that the town had it worse than the victims. Just that the whole university has been tarred because of what a few people did and let happen. Those people should probably be burned at the stake, but the nice townsfolk and students haven't done anything wrong.
