James Coley

Coley is the weakest link here, I was not worried about the defense. I t was the offense I was worried about. After the vanilla playcalling last year I thought the same thing. This coaching staff has no flex and show no confidence, the team emulates the same as the game wears on them. I really like Coley but wish he can get reduced to a lower role. Plus I don't think Kaaya was ready. I would have started Heaps last night and gave him the second half of next weeks game to get his **** right.

Make no mistake, both coordinators are bottom of the barrel types. You can't win on a big time level with an Onfrio or a Coley as your tacticians...you'd constantly be at a huge disadvantage.

Somehow Louisville's staff found ways to give their young QB simple reads and easy throws. Us? We can't even find a way to get the ball to Stacy Coley and Phillip Dorsett. No screens either.

That's because their quarterback was throwing into D's zone coverages. We can't possibly be as bad playing man under coverages as we are at playing zone. Also, then, we compound the situation by rushing essentially three defensive tackles. Whatever. Translation: simple reads and easy throws.

Coley needs to figure out how to attack man under and quarter/match coverages.

I sure hope that the blame game doesn't shift away from d'onofrio.

Our 2 coordinators are in over their heads

I agree. Although our D didn't play god awful, they weren't put in position to be successful.

Pretty scary thought this is gonna be the guy in charge finding ways to give the ball to:

Joseph Yearby
Dexter Williams
Jordan Scarlett
Mark Walton
Stacy Coley
Antonio Callaway (maybe)
Devante Peete (maybe)
Dredrick Snelson
Sam Bruce
Dionte Mullins

In a couple years, if commits hold, our offense is gonna be littered with NFL talent. This moron has can't even find a way to give the ball to the two most explosive players on our offense right now (Duke and Stacy). If he can't handle two ELITE players, how the **** is he gonna handle 10+?

The only way he knows how to give the ball to players in space is by bubble screens. Stacy's only receptions came off terrible screen plays.... This entire offseason, James Coley only managed to come up with screen plays to give the ball to Stacy in space.

It honestly sucks that he is completely retarded as an OC because he is our best recruiter. If there was a way to somehow keep him on staff as a positional coach and have someone else call the plays, that would be ideal. But that's not happening.

I knew this bum was straight garbage from the very first game last year against FAU. The guy was running all verticals against cover 4. I was wondering why our WRs weren't getting separation. His route concepts and combinations make no sense. Coley may be the worst offensive coordinator in the modern era at UM. Yes he's worse than Patrick Nix and Rich Olson part Deux.

these guys are bullies in their approach, watch, they'll throw the kitchen sink at FAMU because their risk is low, they go into a shell every big game

I was texting Lu during the game, and he lost his **** when we ran on 3rd & 9, knowing we were gonna go for it on 4th, and he had nothing ready.

The 3rd and goal trick play might have been the first time that I fell into a psychosis. I saw red.

Running a ****ing reverse to the boundary on the 5-yard line.

He made us looked like an overmatched team FCS team, desperate for something to work.

How about you throw a ****ing fade? Again, it's an easy read for a young QB.

That reverse play actually looked like a pass by the way kaaya went upfield, beyond stupid. Why no fade route to tyre Brady or any receiver for that matter
That's exactly what it was. Kaaya wasn't open so he held onto it, thankfully.

The Not Ready For Prime Time coordinators are both works in progress, er, process. Whatever. I'm sure they're great guys, but some of the stuff they are doing just boggles the mind. smdh.

Ya'll know I've been preachin'. We don't have enough technical guys on staff. And, it shows.

We ran atrocious sets all game. One step logic.

Example: calling a draw on 3rd and 8 on your opponent's side of the field and not knowing what you're going to do next.

Coley is a far better recruiter than he is strategist and play caller.

He's a position coach in way over his head.

This pretty much sums it up. Coley is a great recruiter, but the guy just has no business being an OC at this level.

Yep. Its really sad considering some of the guys we have had come through this program. Even in Randy's day, we had guys like Palermo brought back, Whipple, even though he turned out to not be a great fit chemistry wise, was a highly regarded offensive mind, Lovett. I gave AG credit for getting Fisch, who was a very highly thought of offensive mind with a great NFL pedigree. But we are in a real jam now. Ice Harris, for all his accolades and potential, was a HS coach last year. Kehoe is the epitome of mediocrity and was already fired once from this program for being abrasive and poor recruiting. Coley is too young, and while a great recruiter, has very little X and O background, and really no one else on the staff to help him and give him insight. Our offensive staff took a HUGE downgrade when Fisch left, and its now pure amateur hour.

Its a tough call though because Coley is also our best recruiter. Golden is going to have to make a tough choice here, and soon, if Coley cant figure something out.

Golden should have fired Dorito and handed the keys of the defense to someone capable. Then instead of hiring coley, golden should have went after and up and comer offensive coordinator. You field a competent offense and defense and start winning, recruiting takes care of itself.

As with his whole career golden tried to take the shortcut to success by hiring recruiters on his whole staff, believing he can win just from the talent. Huge miscalculation on his part and so we have what this season is about to become.

Next person son that says golden is a great CEO should get their *** kicked.
