James Coley

I screamed for a RB or TE screen all game. It was perfect for their over aggression and we didn't run ONE! NOT EVEN ONE! Just bubble screens. This was the worse Offensive gameplan I have seen in years. I know everyone gets on Coach D but I really think its time to start shifting that love to Coach Coley. Our offense has regressed and regressed since he took the helm. Either we get a big splash play or its 3 and out. As poor as we played on offense Im still wondering how the **** we managed to rack up 26 mins in time of possession. I no longer am holding out hope that a bright light will go off in the coaching staff's heads. There is something systemically wrong with our team and unfortunately if we can't clean it up, some really talent kids are gonna waste away their years here and that is the ultimate travesty.

Coley too busy running Pat Nix bubble screen heavy offense. **** shame what he has done to Duke. Duke should have at least 5 touches a game in the passing game the way he did as a freshman. Where are the RB screens? Dude was lethal was freshman on screens but I don't remember a single one all year or so far after 1 game this year. Its no wonder all FSU had him doing was recruiting. Dude can't call plays for ****.

I would say that Fisch was Trending on his way out. He was getting better and he QBs were improving. Maybe its too early for Coley but I saw regression from the bowl game to this game in his play calling. They can use the we had a true freshman excuse either. They said they didnt dumb down the playbook. If that is the case, why did you only run like 5 plays out of it. If your gonna trust the kid to be your QB, let him BE your QB.
--Why doesn't he use Duke more in the passing game? One of the two times we did it, Duke had a 50 yard gain. Too bad Isidora was sight-seeing.
--Where were the TEs? Warlord makes three big catches, and is never heard from again.
--Coley seems obsessed with rolling out right-handed QBs to the left.
--The long hand-offs weren't working. Louisville was sitting on them. We didn't even use them to set anything up.
--We barely even tried to take any shots. FIIGD is an easy read for a young QB to make. Read the Safety. If it's not there, check down.
--Absolutely no creativity on offense, especially in the running game. Louisville was playing downhill without consequence. Can a brotha get a trap or a draw? A toss? A reverse NOT in the congested red zone to the boundary?
--After the billionth time Kaaya got hit, maybe some max protect? More double TE sets?
--I don't understand the obsession with zone blocking. If that's the type of team we're gonna be, maybe we should stop recruiting huge maulers.

I had issues with Fisch, but he's so far beyond Coley, it's laughable.

Anyone who had issue with Fisch loses credibility to bash other OCs. Fisch was far and away the best OC weve had in a decade, if not longer.

I think Fisch himself would tell you he had certain issues. None really with play design. Mostly with play calling inside the red zone. Pretty much just being too clever.

i remember Fisch getting cute in the redzone, but those offenses scored points in bunches with way less talent than we have now. Fisch turned Jacory into a **** good QB his senior year and Morris had a big junior year under Fisch.

This is probably a textbook case of the Peter Principle. Coley has been promoted to the level of his incompetence. Recruiting does not a tactician make.

Coley had two 1st rounds QB picks at fsu--noles stunk and did nothing. He leaves--NC. Comes here; our offense stinks. Conclusion: Coley stinks. Al has found an OC to take the heat off Mark.
Yeah b/c him being part of the program made them not win a NC, he didnt even call the ****ing plays...get out of here with that ****. He was one of the ones that helped bring in the talent FSU had/has. I think we're finally understanding why Jimbo didnt give up play calling.

He made up the game plans.

Most bizarre was that play action strikes from conventional sets were open every single time and yet were avoided. I see no reason to do anything but light them up with that until they back off. Sometimes they outthink themselves. That singular strategy wouldve reduced hits on your qb and carried the potential to slow that defense's assault.

Jacory was pretty **** good his sophomore year too. There was plenty of offensive talent when Fisch got here.

Generally people who say "you know" every other word are not very intelligent. After hearing Coley speak was hoping that he was an exception, but sadly he is as dumb as most people who say "you know".

Video game playcalling.

It seemed as if there was no rhyme or reason to what he was calling.

No flow. No plan of attack.

Someone with Photoshop skills need to shop some of his selfies and put Burgess Jr. or something else funny behind him. I could use a good laugh after last night.

How did we manage the yards we got, because we have a shot load if talent and this guy don't know how to utilize it...so **** frustrating to see!!!

I told yall ****. We had 57 catches to RBs under Fisch with Morris. Coley comes and it magically drops to 4. Oh it's all Morris. Hard headed *******. He is a hybrid of Whipple and Patrick Nix combined. Bubble screens and bombs. It's not a wonder Fisch comes and pickory looks decent and Morris throws 7 picks. If not for No D we won way more games under Fisch.

I've been saying it since last year....all of the fan bases anger towards Onfrio kept the attention off this cat but the reality is he's a HORRIBLE play caller. He's an animal recruiting, but that has nothing to do with calling plays.

He's ridiculously miscast right now. He's definitely got a future as a recruiter/assistant head coach type but he has no business calling plays at a big time school.

Looking back, it's easy to see why Jimbo wasn't going to let this dude call plays. There is no tangible difference between Coley the playcaller and Pat Nix.....it's an abomination.

Coley is the weakest link here, I was not worried about the defense. I t was the offense I was worried about. After the vanilla playcalling last year I thought the same thing. This coaching staff has no flex and show no confidence, the team emulates the same as the game wears on them. I really like Coley but wish he can get reduced to a lower role. Plus I don't think Kaaya was ready. I would have started Heaps last night and gave him the second half of next weeks game to get his **** right.
