Jake Heaps?

Let me add that this is NOT a done deal. In fact I would put it at 50/50 at best.

D$. So yiur saying that one of the fresh QBs would hopefully be starting however if all 3 can't handle it. Enter heaps?

That's the thought process.

If Heaps ends up starting for miami its gong to be a long season

I think we are adding him just to add motivation. If he is as bad as we think, he shouldnt beat out KO or Kaaya. I think Gray Crow could get nudged out or Rosier will get a shirt.

If this happens it will be a great thing. I see him as a great fit for our offense. Has all the tools you want and was #1 qb few years back. Kansas was a no win situation. Had great Freshman season with BYU, broke a few records. Started Soph season poorly and after losing out to players fav qb Riley Nelson. Prolly made a mistake to leave BYU but this could be a fresh start for him and i would expect him to start Week 1 for us.

I just hope they aren't too loyal to him just for the sake of being a SR. Dudes a first year at UM all the same as Kaaya and Rosier. Olsen has tenure on him, so the only way he should or would touch the field should be if he was outright the best QB.

I'm ok with it but it doesn't move the meter for me much. Kaaya is that dude, I have a good feeling that we got the best QB in the country in this class.

That's why our fan base is where we are now. We think this no talent hack who couldn't win in Kansas can come to Miami and win. Please stop making sense. I sometimes hate the fact that some of people can even sit here and type that this can help us. He doesn't know the system. This guy is terrible.. He's been in 3 colleges in 4 years lets be realistic here.

This doesn't "really" hurt us to bring him in even as a backup.

My issue(s) with bringing him into the program are:

1. What does this say about Crow? He has been here since 2012. He is nowhere close to being the starter and he is the oldest healthy QB and the only one with any experience. Once Williams went down, it was assumed Olsen was the guy to lead us; no one believed it was Crow and there were only 2 scholarship (healthy) QBs for the spring game. IMO he will never play meaningful minutes because he is not very good. In addition, I don't think anyone on here even thinks he is a QUALITY backup who can be relied upon in a bind. Why do we keep him on scholarship? Why do you need a QB that cannot be relied upon as a backup? Because he is the oldest?

2. Adding Heaps means adding a scholarship. Adding a scholarship means we have to take more of the -9 over the next 2 years. If you want to take Heaps, then cut Crow.

If he comes here and starts for us week 1 then we're in trouble. Hopefully Olsen or Kaaya step up

This guy has 1 year of eligibility left in his career. Theres noway hes transferring here unless he thinks he will be the starter this year. Hes far and away our best option right now at this moment and its not even close. Throw out the BS with Kansas and Charlie Weis. That program is a joke. When he had talented WR's his freshman season at BYU he looked great. He's more experienced than any of our qb's, most talented, strongest arm. Forget tenure that means very little. Al Golden would not be bringing him in if he felt comfortable starting any of the inexperienced guys. Trust me hes not coming here for depth or to ride the bench. Id like anybody who says if he starts week 1 were in trouble to please give me your argument as to why? With our talent at WR and rb he doesnt need to do much. IMO he is the absolute perfect 1 year bridge to our young qb's and gives us the qb we need to have a big season.

Heaps isn't that bad bro you guys are exaggerating. The talent we would put around him he wouldn't have to do much. This season we just need a manager that won't mess things up I don't trust olsen at all and will never trust a true freshman. This would allow us to redshirt kaaya. I'm all in !!!!!!

With what KO did in our spring game, I'm looking for a replacement yesterday! This kid ain't garbage. I was expecting much worse from some of the posts. ****, I saw more completions from this kid in that Kansas spring game than I saw from KO in our entire scrimmage. Kayaa and Rozier are young and neither has taken a snap vs. a college secondary. I don't see a problem with bringing this kid in for a year. Take this into account, fellas. KO played absolutely horrible against a d'NOfrio coached defense! That scares the **** of me!
