Jaden Francois in the Transfer Portal

Don't miss the forest for the trees. You say "you really don't know squat about Francois", but then make some sort of convoluted argument for why previous "setting aside any personal feelings" should be similar in this situation.

And I tried to explain to you what IS DIFFERENT in this situation.

Again, I shouldn't have to make the point a million times. Once you enroll a kid, you have to be MORE INCLINED to set those personal feelings aside. That's the nature of the beast. ICs, scholarship limits, academic progress rates, all of those things combine to make a university MORE INVESTED in a kid once he gets to campus.

But for a kid who never signed with us? Why should we ******* care? Issiah Walker got lucky, we had an available IC because a kid who gave us a verbal didn't get academically qualified by National Signing Day. Maybe if Francois signed with UM and Moise had qualified, there would never have been an IC slot for Issiah Walker and he never would have gotten a "second chance" to come to UM.

Also, Issiah didn't spurn Miami on live TV at his signing ceremony.

Some "personal feelings" are easier to set aside than others.

That's a lot of typing and none of it answers my question re: whether UM has or intends to reach out? I suspect space is an issue so I'd guess not, but I don't know.

How does anyone ACTUALLY know the answer to that when the kid just entered the portal.

I've previously mentioned that we have zero-point-zero IC slots to give.

And Manny has stated that he wants kids who WANT to be at UM. Hence, my comments about the differences between how Issiah Walker treated us and how Jaiden Francois treated us, and how inapplicable the examples of Jeff Thomas and Cleveland Reed are.

I don't understand how what I posted DOESN'T answer your question, at least to the extent that it can possibly be answered by a non-coach. Circumstances make it incredibly difficult and unlikely for UM to WANT to take Francois or even actually take Francois.

And as others have pointed out, we don't have much need at safety, and Keyshawn Greene would be needed even more.

F Francois.

He is asking you to speak for the staff, who almost certainly amid a covid issue on the roster, and within a few hours of Francois' entry into the portal, have probably reached out to members of the fan base to inform them of their intentions with regards to this player that has already rejected them three times and would be a roster spot challenge, specifically.

Just a bunch of unsupported speculation.

Does he "raise our recruiting ranking"? Sure. But zero evidence of whether he makes Miami a better football team. He has had a total of 2 college practices. His behavior and personality are suspect, and could certainly create chemistry issues. ****, we took our time with Issiah Walker before locking in so that we could make sure that there weren't issues. And we have some bigger/better targets in our sights currently for 2021.

Let this kid rot.

He doesn't "make Miami a better football team" as if that is an established fact. It's guesswork.

I'll roll with the Palmetto kids before taking a kid who dumped us three times.

lol no its him....lol wait i just reread your comment wth does **** up mean????

 **** up usually means dead or done for. Lying on your back with your **** up. I thought I remember him announcing he was leaving quite some time ago so I was surprised to see him officially in the portal now and not back then.

I don't particularly care when kids choose schools over UM but when you commit, decommit, commit, decommit, lead on our coaches, cry at your ceremony, and are full of drama, I root you to rot like the POS you are. This news made my day.
well put sir

Not that I disagree but then why did this staff recruit him to the bitter end?

I think it is because he legitimately displayed interest, though he ultimately flaked out on us for the THIRD TIME right after visiting us on the final weekend.

Nobody disputes that he is physically capable of playing, but people are commenting on the mental/psychological/chemistry side of things. And sometimes you don't know how an 18 year old will be until he actually proves it.

Were we interested in developing him based on film from when he is 16 and 17? Sure. Once we got to see his behavioral patterns up-close as he flirted with us and dumped us three times? That's when you might be able to conclude that you "got lucky" he didn't pick UM.

Sometimes we don't identify these problematic kids until after they've been at UM for a couple of years.

We probably would have been better off if Willie Williams had picked F$U, but we recruited him to the bitter end too.
