Jaden Francois in the Transfer Portal

So, Canesport reached out to Francois, He told them "he'd like to consider the Canes"

I bet he would....

Why doesn't CaneSpurt earn their paychecks by asking Francois to be SPECIFIC in citing the elements of Miami's "vibe" and "atmosphere" and "organization" have changed since he chose Nebraska.

Go back and watch the video, folks. I even think one of the guys asking him those softball questions was Gary Fur-man.

Regardless of your impression, would Miami have interest now?

We are thin at CB, no? Blades. Couch. Ivey. Williams.

One injury and down to 3 CB would be bad. I'm not sure whether Frierson or Keontra Smith (listed at striker) could move into full CB position.

(As an aside, why isn't Jalen Harrell listed on Miami's official roster. Did I just miss him?)
You missed more then harrell, if one of the top 4 cb' s go down then hopefully dunson or. Clarke steps up.

It’s been real Lincoln!

on top of that, taking JT back turned out to be a mistake

But you don't know the outcome until you get to the end of the story. Jeff Thomas was OUR player, he PICKED MIAMI, he went to school at UM for years. It's an investment. We are on the hook for his Academic Progress Rate. We have invested an IC and a scholarship and our academic ranking on Jeff Thomas and other players who signed with Miami.

It is always possible that kids do not reach their full potential on the playing field. But the fact that we gave Jeff Thomas a second chance has no impact on whether we should invest in a kid who has rejected Miami THREE TIMES.

We're not talking about the apostle Peter here. We're talking about a kid who had every opportunity to evaluate the program a few miles from his house, over years, and who chose a school in Nebraska that recruited him for a couple of months.

Thanks, but no thanks.

Two separate chances. Really three if we’re being honest. Kid can kick all the rocks

True. Man, what the **** is wrong with this roster:

Isn't this the most updated roster?

Don’t you remember. He got love in the Lincoln Airport when he visited bc random people in the airport just so happened to know who he was and he was sold. He fond nirvana in a cornfield. Then he gets there and crickets. Lol

Yeah, and city-boy has no idea that the yokels of Lincoln organize those "meet-cutes".

I can only imagine that he would have picked UCLA if only Harvey Weinstein had arranged for Francois to meet a bunch of desperate actresses at the airport when he arrived.

So, two of your "takebacks" were Miami players who considered transferring?

And this is the same as taking a kid who decommitted from Miami twice as a recruit, then (while he didn't play the hat game) played the "shirt game" at his delayed signing ceremony?

Yeah, whatever, they're all the same. We can't possibly differentiate between Jeff Thomas and Jaiden Francois.

How ridiculous.

Don't miss the forest from the trees. The bigger picture is that this staff has demonstrated with each of those guys that they're willing to set aside any personal feelings if the player can improve the team. I really don't know squat about Francois. I know he was torn on signing day and there was a whole charade. I'm not going to opine on whether he's a take or not. I'm more interested in learning whether this staff thinks he can help and if so, whether they have or intend to reach out.

I thought this kid went **** up at Nebraska a few months ago? Or am I thinking of somebody else?

Don't miss the forest for the trees. You say "you really don't know squat about Francois", but then make some sort of convoluted argument for why previous "setting aside any personal feelings" should be similar in this situation.

And I tried to explain to you what IS DIFFERENT in this situation.

Again, I shouldn't have to make the point a million times. Once you enroll a kid, you have to be MORE INCLINED to set those personal feelings aside. That's the nature of the beast. ICs, scholarship limits, academic progress rates, all of those things combine to make a university MORE INVESTED in a kid once he gets to campus.

But for a kid who never signed with us? Why should we ******* care? Issiah Walker got lucky, we had an available IC because a kid who gave us a verbal didn't get academically qualified by National Signing Day. Maybe if Francois signed with UM and Moise had qualified, there would never have been an IC slot for Issiah Walker and he never would have gotten a "second chance" to come to UM.

Also, Issiah didn't spurn Miami on live TV at his signing ceremony.

Some "personal feelings" are easier to set aside than others.
