And when you can recognize football IQ and respect it.

I am by no means a football expert. But there are some players whose feel and intelligence of the game is very on point and get coaches who tell them to play completely different than what theyā€™ve known. Denofrio for example.

You can have 4.2 speed and be 6ā€™2
But Iā€™d rather have a dude that can make the right plays at the right time and knows where he has to be at all times.

Dude was 10 yards off of a receiver and came in and tackled him 1 yard short of a first down. If you canā€™t recognize that as a db then what good are you regardless of measurables.

He has a lot of heart for someone his stature
 
Man I don't know much about this kid. But he is VERY good. How is his coverage skills?

What happened to this kid? When he left OU most of our fans saw him as a depth piece and now he may end up being our #1 CB? Did he really get no development at OU? Lots of turnover there on D coaching over the past 4 years.

On another note, something I love about this is that he's a S.Fla kid from STA. He spent 4 years at OU and will be at Miami for 1 year. Yet I guarantee you, once and if he gets drafted, he'll claim Miami only šŸ˜‚.
 
I canā€™t even think of the last time a Miami defender had a game like that. Maybe Phillips or Greg vs FSU? Unbelievable performance.

Davis balled his a$$ off, he was reading and diagnosing plays with ease, and he does not shy away from contact. Agree with the poster who stated its been a minute since a UM DB has had that type of impact in a game.
 
Highly highly Intelligent, cerebral, urgent, gym rat, moxie, student of the game, hard working, class act and the type you want your daughter to marry.
 
Perfect form and helmet placement on the forced fumble. His turnaround to make the tackle on the screen was great too.
 
You know who he reminds me of? Trajan Bandy. Bandy was undersized and lacked measurables but always seemed to be in position and had no qualms about mixing it up.
