The more success we have, the more the goalposts shift, the more we expect greatness every time from everyone and complain when we don't see it.As the #1 team in the nation, WR's are expected to make that catch.

Not to sound disrespectful, but there is no way you have played football in your life. Youre making that catch seem like its Randy Moss esque having to jump over 3 defenders and one hand a catch. Not many WRs can make the grab. You only have a short time to adjust and try to grab it while twisting and contorting your body to reach back. Then the defender coming inches from tipping it changes your process because now you have to try and see and project where the tipped pass may land to at least try not to keep the defenders from catching it. All that in the blink of an eye. Don’t put your guys in that situation, QB, just take the first down! Nearly got Mali destroyed on another where Upshaw was wide open because the safety doubled Mali.
How did Mensah force that pass to Upshaw (the one he dropped on 4th down)? What was forced? Upshaw was behind the defense in a zone spot all by himself.I agree and I was ****ed when it happened. With that said, I believe Briggs was open and thought DM should’ve passed it to him. He has definitely forced some passes where he could’ve passed it elsewhere.
As a team, there’s a few things to clean up on both sides. And despite that, we’ve been dominating.
Upshaw has made more difficult catches than that at his short time at Miami. I bet if you ask him, he will say he should have made that catchThe more success we have, the more the goalposts shift, the more we expect greatness every time from everyone and complain when we don't see it.
Don’t over exaggerate what I said bud. Of course Upshaw would say he must catch that. But Mensah would also tell you he should’ve placed it betterNot to sound disrespectful, but there is no way you have played football in your life. Dude, he was wide tf open. It wasnt even a high velocity throw. A simple body adjustment like that is not difficult.
If you ask Upshaw, bet you he says he should have 100% caught that. It was just a drop, it happens.
Sorry he isn't perfect. All in all our receivers have dropped only a handful of passes all season. Btw, yes he should have caught it but the pass was slightly behind himUpshaws drop was egregious. Went from going up 24-0 to 17-7. Those kind of drops completely change games
I agree. He is a great player and would want that one back.Upshaw has made more difficult catches than that at his short time at Miami. I bet if you ask him, he will say he should have made that catch
Briggs was right in front of him. Much easier throw and catch. Not making excuses for Upshaw but Mensah could have thrown it to Briggs or ran for the first.that throw was slightly behind him, but he still should have caught that ball. On that 4th down Mensah had i believe Elijah Lofton open right in front of him. If Mensah throws it to him, it's an easy first down pickup plus another 10-15 yards gained.
He's human, just like everyone else, except maybe Baby Jesus LOL I don't think anyone on here is saying he sucks, just that it was a catchable ball even though it wasn't a great throw by Mensah. Also, Mensah should have taken the shorter and easier pass for the first down. With that being said, that drop did change the trajectory of the game and gave Pitt some life. If you ask me, I still believe Upshaw is one of the top 3-4 receivers and will make some big plays to help win games in the future.I agree. He is a great player and would want that one back.
I just find it amusing he is getting criticized like he is Baumann in the Natty. Because things have gone well, and we are #1 in the Country, 0 amount of mistakes or learning experiences are acceptable. All because we have avoided mistakes and enjoyed a little success.
He should not have even been in at that point, nor thrown into a kill shot... insane risking our best player that way. Insane.Dropped the ball???
Mensah led him into triple coverage and he got blasted on that play and I’m surprised he jumped right up.
Don't twist the goal post moving. The goal posts are finally being put back where they belong. The more success we have, the more the goalposts shift, the more we expect greatness every time from everyone and complain when we don't see it.
He's definitely not trash.Upshaw drops one pass and now he’s trash. I 100% thinks he deserves more targets he is a good route runner and I actually like him after the catch. Yall need to calm down
