Because of Mauigoa.Never seen anything like this. You could go through every post on this board from inception, and until this year the universal (and correct) opinion was you cannot rely on underclassmen across the defensive and offensive lines. That, in fact, has been accepted doctrine since the beginning of time. But for some reason, Cantwell is the exception 6 games into his first year on the nation’s No. 1 ranked team.

1000% this! And I was at fault for it too in the off-season, I thought he was gonna come in and lock down a tackle spot and be our guy at one end this year. Unfortunately he’s just not ready and that’s OK, not everyone is Cici. Just gotta give the kid time.Because of Mauigoa.
Who were the great players Samson was behind his true freshman year?Samson played behind great players on great units early on. This is not the Samson situation as Samson pushed for time his freshman year on a SIGNIFICANTLY better and more talented unit.
I am confident that Cantwell will turn into a great tackle but not getting burn on this o line compared to Samson’s slow development is not the same.

Rivers, Matt Lee, Javion cohen, Francis and AnezWho were the great players Samson was behind his true freshman year?
Rivers and Cooper were far from established “great” players. Please tell me, over the last 50 years of Miami football, the number of true freshman tackles who have started and played “great.”Rivers, Matt Lee, Javion cohen, Francis and Anez

Didn’t he get injured early on?
Rivers was established as a good player, and cooper had already started as a freshman majority of the previous season.
