I've seen this play out several times already. He makes a claim and you respond with data showing that his claim is incorrect. He'll never retract the claim because that would be conceding to you.

People have now reached the point that they will defend the indefensible rather than admit they were wrong. Social media has made that worse. It used to be a sign of weakness.

You are correct. I was trying to point out how reductive and misleading the "not winning the sack battle in 6 out of 8 ACC games" was, but he still acts like it's a valid stat.

Strange behavior from "JADood".

He literally just said I was correct though? His defense was, who cares.

You’re not wrong but this kid isn’t Mauigoa

And even Mauigoa was the weak link on the line as a freshman
I understand he's not Mauigoa, but Cantwell is still the number one recruit and will likely start day one wherever he goes. He maybe isn't as ready day one as Mauigoa was, but some would argue his ceiling is higher. Also, we'll be losing both our Tackles, so those two sports are wide open and Samson/Kinsler won't have that much eligibility left. Saying it's not a big deal to lose the number one player on your board is loser talk

I don’t disagree with the thought process I just don’t think this kid is the one to do it with

I do not think he’s a day 1 starter

So I guess it just depends what you think of this kid. He has a LONG way to go but obviously unreal upside

Gaby thinks Oregon would be the pick if it’s not Georgia

Then who else would you rather spend the money on? We aren't stealing one of the top WR from OSU or LSU. How did last year turn out with DBs

Jumping in the middle of a conversation and latching on to one part of it while ignoring the rest of the conversation certainly isn’t strange behavior, or crazy.

It’s like Vince McMahon is in charge of this script l

This is a strange conversation

The question simply was anyone else think we shouldn’t spend an eye watering amount on this kid and I said I agree

I don’t believe in spending money out of desperation

Cantwell is a loss leader. The ROI that would come from his commitment, regardless of him being a superstar here or not, is massive. And if he works out, even better. Thats why you throw the bank at him.

Everything starts up front, and having the #1 recruit and #1 OT brings a lot of stability + playing in the ACC he would have his side locked down.

Cantwell also talks to other recruits and he would help build this class and bring a lot of momentum to it.

There’s a reason why Oregon, Ohio State, Miami, Georgia, Michigan, etc all have this guy as the #1 player on their board
Yeah for sure. I don’t disagree with you on any of these points, I’m just saying if we are going to “overpay” for someone I personally would do it at a position like I mentioned.

Nobody likes cherry picked statistics. It doesn't help make any argument, but it does lead people to believe you've got an agenda that's not objective. When you're looking at things like this, ask what a reasonable person would think. "Losing the sack battle" by giving up one more sack loses all the context of when those sacks were given up and is phrased to lead the reader to believe we allowed defenses to abuse Cam, when the opposite was true considering he sat in the pocket for an eternity to make sure he could make a play. None of that is on the OL.

This is genius marketing.
Rosenhaus earning that commission.

This might be 247’s most viewed commitment ever. Talk about building a brand.

Deliberately making 3 teams feel like they have a shot.
Remember how almost no cane fan watched Avantae Williams’s surprise commit to Miami?
Everyone is gonna be watching this one.
Brilliant!!!
