Every player drafted played more for Mario than Manny. I also remember in season 2 of Mario when everyone blamed him saying whatever players he retained are his players because he chose to keep them in the portal era. So which one is it?
That's my only point. Pick what the arguments gonna be and stick with it. Don't keep playing both sides of the fence. Period MARIO needs to do better, the staff needs to do better. This constantly moving bar is foolishness & it's not usually genuine.

Feels like Cantwell didn’t commit to UGA this weekend, which his family and himself said they wouldn’t do multiple times. UGA is slightly hedging because they didn’t get the verbal “it’s UGA”.

Chances are they will get their confirmation once he sits down with his family in next day or so

Everyone on this **** has some kind of agenda now. It's sad & frustrating. Plenty of **** I'm perturbed with Mario about. But everyone wants to put all blame on him. Zero blame elsewhere, yet 100 % of the credit elsewhere. ***** goofy.
99.9% just wants to be right...and on a message board you can spin anything to always have yourself come out on top in your eyes.

I have been very adamant that I thought our baseball team would be awful this year. But I stated throughout I was dying to be wrong. I want to be wrong. Up until this weekend it was starting to look like this group may just overcome other issues with grit, quality spot pitching, a top 5 college talent and some luck. I was ready to admit I was way off. I'm still hoping we get 2-3 this weekend, maybe get 1-2 in the acc tourny and at worst get to Sunday "all the marbles" game in a regional. I could have disappeared during this hot streak, found reasons to disapprove why it was fools gold but as a fan I want JD to figure it out. I'm just still not sure he can but Ill be ready to admit I was wrong and not puffing my chest out for weeks on end if it doesnt work out.

There are people on here who still think this is 2002 and we just show up and steam roll everyone, get any recruit we want and its all because we paid this much, we are Miami, and anything that goes wrong is because Mario is a caveman with nice knockers "Amen to that" - @JG14 . It can never be because times have changed, Miami has to fight multi front wars all the way down to its local 7 on 7 and youth coaches dumping on them when they can. Or a washed up hip hop artist still trying to stay relevant using Miami as a way to get clicks. Or our own media giving guys like Shapiro a platform. It just helps the lies that other teams throw out there seem legit. Which almost no state schools fight within their state (Big10/SEC). Its why Miami is so unique.

You know I cant wait til we win the ACC and a ship....I give it 1 hour before "Well Mario accumulated so much talented it overcame his coaching" or "He finally put a staff in place and got out of the way"

Georgia thought they could get him to shut it down on the visit and that didn't happen.
Doesn't mean he comes here but it means we're still in it.

@Brooklyndee Do you mind sharing your perturbance with Mario. I’m just curious if you don’t mind sharing on the board. I’m old and I remember the days when Miami was a NFL team playing in college. Young folks have heard but they’ve never seen except videos. Mario, to me, is fighting against all of college football because no one except Miami wants to see what used to be down here. He, more than anyone wants to see what it used to be.

At the end of the day, the way it is now, like he said, everyone on your team is a free agent. If that kid wanna go to Georgia, let him go. Fight like **** to get him but if he wants to go there I don’t want him because he’ll always be thinking about them. The kids that come here and want to stay, that’s the lifeblood you have to work to make the team great and he has gotten better players than we’ve had in 20 years. It took Howard 5 and that’s when there wasn’t no internet. It’s tougher now especially with the money on top of the table instead of under it. Some of these HS kids making more than pros. Whoever heard of a kid in 12th grade with an agent. Wild times yo.
My issues with Mario are mainly minor things. The one thing that really ****ed me off (even though I knew from jump why he was doing it) is how he's personally choosing to deploy special teams. As someone that came from those factory years he knows **** well the power of a truly dynamic special teams. We applied genuine pressure each & every Saturday with our kick off returns, punt returns & even kick offs themselves. To know Mario is now taking a cautious approach really ****ed me off. Chris Johnson for instance we were telling him don't push the issue. Only come out when it's safe. I get it the kids vision was ****, he didn't have the best of hands. But he is fast as ****. Let's see what he can do, even more so Robbie Washington. That kid is lightning in a bottle. We didn't play him particularly cause we didn't trust if he'd take it safe. We're spending 15 minutes in practice covering that. Time management in general and delegating responsibilities. The climate of college sports now is very different for obvious reasons. And we're adapting and ways I never imagined we would. But don't take our weapons what makes us unique from the rest of the country or at least most of it and hamper us.

Dee i just watched a replay of 2000 sugar bowl last night and the same thing stuck out like a sore thumb to me. between 1 6 and 31 running back punts and kickoffs our offense was starting its drives near midfield for most of the game. That is incredibly hard to beat.

It’s about money, yes. Please explain what illicit money looks like.

You know what it is. Stop being an *** about this subject.

It's undeclared cash. Can be given to coaches, family members, and/or friends.

While this is true. This is still how EVERY big recruit is landed EVERY five star & borderline five star gets this treatment. The fact is that Kirby and Stacy searles (barf) out recruited Mario and Mirabal.

Part of it isn’t their fault. UGA has a track record and has people believing. They built on the old Saban model of big bags pre-NIL. Bought some Nattys and now they have everyone thinking they are the gold standard. Hard to argue that they aren’t. No less infuriating. But let’s please not create a narrative they they are somehow supplementing this in cash to a place close to his deal with Miami.

It's not "EVERY big recruit". Not every recruit that is offered bag money accepts it, certainly not in the amounts that have been offered in this situation.

At the same time that those porsts come the “receipts” will be pulled for anyone who ever dared question anything and weren’t slurping.

I've personally been on that same trip when it relates to baseball. I think JD is just in so far over his head and these teams get lost in the mix. BUT the ball they been playing minus last weekend has been way better than I thought they were capable of. He obviously found something that makes them tick or someone did. Virginia just had the better this weekend. Now I'm curious how they respond. The Mario topic unfortunately it's just never gonna end & I agree it really is gonna always be that way cause people just wanna feel like they're right. Its just annoying.

Post of the year candidate right here.

I'm aware of what is transpirig, but that story is coming from our side. And there is always other sides to the story.

With that being said, excuses need to stop at some point on behalf of Mario/Mirabal. This is year 4 and the excuses for me have run out. Get the job done, period.

There are no excuses. There's nothing wrong with describing what is happening. I've already said that we don't have the boosters willing to do what certain SEC boosters routinely do.

If that description is not good enough, then let's see if anyone on the board is willing to step up and do the things that certain SEC boosters have been doing for decades. Because I haven't seen that yet.

I'm not sure what you think the "other sides to the story" are. If the recruiting decision comes down to the single consideration of "most total money", then Miami is most likely to lose out unless an SEC team chooses to tap out. That is a fair assessment that is not limited to this particular recruitment.

If a recruit takes into account more factors than just "high bidder", then Miami stands a far better chance of winning the recruitment.

also I thought we have money. if theyre paying up, you match it. you need him.

We have more than enough money to buy any player. Anyone saying otherwise is full of it or just doesn't know what's in our piggy bank. That's why I said the excuses on every level needs to stop already.
If we have that much, how did we get outbid for Jeremiah Smith?
Because certain posters misunderstand micro vs. macro, and don't want to acknowledge that Miami might value different players or positions differently, as well as not create massive pay disparities among various players.

Taken individually, Miami absolutely has enough money to pay any individual player. On the other hand, no team has enough money to be the high-bidder on 85 or 105 players all at once.

As for Jeremiah Smith, one needs to consider whether he actually wanted Miami to outbid Ohio Taint. If Miami doesn't have the chance to outbid another school, then we will not, in fact, outbid another school.

Exactly. It's enough that the rules have changed to the extent they have to essentially eliminate returns. But with this level of athlete down here why not push it WHEN YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY. His thing I understand, it's because we don't have the discipline elsewhere. We don't have the type of teams that can make up for a bunch of errors. But that's on him. Get these kids attention. Fix the discipline issues. If that means we run some kids off to get everyone else on the same page than kick rocks bud. We need to employ each and every tactical advantage we have. That's special teams, thats DBS making plays on the ball and being aggressive. If that leads to a timely penalty in some uncomfortable spots, if that leads to big plays here and there I'm perfectly fine with it. Cause it's gonna work for us more often than not and it shows teams they have a reason to be cautious. We don't even give opposing coordinators reason to question a call if we're showing them week in and week out bad technique and an unwillingness to be aggressive enough to turn them over more often than not

Perhaps I was a bit harsh... You're right.

I hope he flourishes and dominates in all aspects of life. Couldn't care less what he does on the gridiron if it aint with us.

Better?
I’m all about being ****ed off about losing a big time recruit but wishing ill will on a kid, whether you like it or not he’s still a kid, is a bit over the top imo. Do what you gotta do man
