Yep, Armory Square. I’ve spent a lot of time at Benjamin’s up there in Armory square. SU had SOME talent for sure.

As for Dinosaur…
I can’t emphasize enough, TRASH. Anyone who thinks that is good quality bbq would pass out and faint if I took them to some places in Texas. It is not even the same universe.
As a city kid who knew nothing about BBQ at the time, I thought the beef ribs were the ****. Now I know better

I didn't even notice. Guess I just never come across it. But for me they'll only be one dinosaur. Is the one in Manhattan good? If so I'll go check it out. Used to like the one in Syracuse. We'd go for a team dinner every time we were in Syracuse. Then we'd go to bars in armory square i think it was called. Literally all there was to do
That city sucks.

Manny left a broken team and program.

Where is this Manny Diaz revisionist history coming from along with Mario's lack of on the field production NOT being a problem. Of course it is.

Ive stated multiple times in this thread "Mario's issues are on the field".

"Mario needs to win. Now."

Its almost like yall gloss over what's being said because it's so triggering.

I dont get it...

Let's circle back to the part where I said "I agree with you."

Again Mario landing at Miami IS NOT the same as Lanning landing at OU. Its just not.

Infrastructure
Staffing across multiple departments
Recruiting
Financials
Team
Building Infrastructure

Mario whether anyone wants to believe it or not pulled Miami out of program obscurity as a whole.

You think Lanning had to adjust FUNDING compared to Mario? Stop it lol. Like is this real life?

Anyway I will say it again. Mario is in year 4. Hes been above average at best on the field here. AT BEST. This team as a whole on paper (assuming Beck is healthy of course) IMHO is better than last year's squad. As a whole... coaching remains to be a seen.

ACCCG and Playoffs.

Year one I wanted 6 wins. Got it
Two 8 wins. Fail
Three 10 wins. Got it (no the ending did not amuse me)

The track has been upward. Keep it moving. No excuses.
Mario didn't win 6 games year 1.

How much is Mario responsible for the behind-the-scenes infrastructure? Vs how much is the BOT/Prez/AD responsible?

In any case, he has a worse record than Manny through 3 years. The infrastructure is irrelevant if it doesn't lead to results.

No excuses in year 4

I disagree. Numbers are numbers but there is context to be applied. Mario has been a HC three times. He was at FIU the longest (6 years). Every stop he’s been at has been a complete rebuild. If you adjust his overall record/winning pct (84-76, 52.5%) to power 5 football (Oregon and Miami) he has a 57-19 record with a 75% win pct. Now if we separate the power 5 programs and re-introduce his time at FIU, it is important to understand what FIU’s program has always been, especially at that time. The golden era of the Golden Panthers was with an inexperienced, first time HC in Mario Cristobal.

I’m a Mario supporter as I’ve said on here a bunch of times. I think he is a much better coach than people, especially our fan base, gives him credit for. He has undoubtedly elevated our program in every facet. As a supporter, what I will say is, he needs to take the next step. We all say “we’d be happy consistently winning 10 games and just being competitive” but that’s a load of crap.

He has recruited better than the rest of the conference 3 years in a row now. He needs to take the next step and, at absolutely bare minimum, get to the ACCCG and the playoff. At some point the question of just how much talent he’s going to need to accrue to beat people with inferior talent to him will come in to play. I hope he turns it around just like I’m hoping the success of our baseball team continues and JD remains for the same reasons as Mario.
Your math is wrong. Mario is 57-29, not 57-19, at the P4 level. That's a 66% win %, not 75%.

He has a worse win % at Miami than Manny Diaz.

He's been an 8-4 caliber coach. Let's see if he can take a step up from that.

Whoops. Slight arithmetic error there. Nonetheless, my opinion remains. You have to consider every stop he’s been at has been a rebuild, so the front end of his tenure contains more losses than the back end. That tells me he tends to improve teams but also hasn’t been at one long enough to have a big enough sample size.

Manny inherited a much better situation from Richt than what he left Mario and he couldn’t even recruit his own position (LB).

I agree, he needs to take the next step and start by beating up on his conference where he has the most talented team.

You get the point. Everyone here gets the point but agendas need heel dug defending. People wrote off Mario year one and need their opinion validated. I get it.

Having said that your ignorance is glaring in this post.

ANYONE who thinks Mario didn't demand the funding and infrastructure changes doesn't know what they're talking about.

Point blank period.

Keep focusing on the wins by all means.

Last year we won 10 for the second time in two decades.

"The infrastructure is irrelevant if it doesn't lead to results."

Not sure what the "no doubt" is for lol I'll be there

So Mario's value is simply that he demanded that we spend money? Lol

In 2022, we weren't just 5-7...we were a lucky 5-7! We were somewhere in the 70-90 range overall, despite being ranked in the top 15 preseason. It's revisionist history to pretend like he walked into a rebuild.

He's done a terrible job on the field. POINT BLANK PERIOD. Sounds like you think he should be an administrator. He's done a good job in that regard. Maybe in year 4 he'll be able to exceed Manny's win % here (since he hasn't thru year 3)

It's probably because he started out with Danny miaz players the first year! Win total has increased every year.... despite you saying he's done a terrible job
