Yeah great hit rate when you consider a blue chip as 4 or 5 star and you have 32 5 star and 320 four star, so you have 382 chances to say "Hey look how good I did!"

I agree you need "blue chip" recruits, but that means they're miss rate on 5* is less than 50%.

That means you failed at your job that you have a salary for, fail in you school exam, etc. dang I think the weather man have a better success rate.

No I get the amount of players.
But these sites pump their chest and say "we're the best" but they just follow offers and the commited school.

Rivals has a 5.8 get picked 4th overall, as a push, to me that's a miss.

I get that their are a tonne of HS players but they don't watch much film and stuff and it's all good.

Every school has their own department and they miss too!

If he and his team (parents & agent)are being fair. Miami should get that OV. No one will be on Miami’s side, but deep down other coaches and people will know. Miami was literally used as leverage. Especially since you’ve already been to those places before and they’re in constant communication with him. Just like the U. Again we wont get any empathy at all, but to get our OV cancelled is STRAIGHT BULL****.

5 star Will Johnson was rated as a 10-20 1st round pick but medical concerns has dropped him out of the 1st round

ESPN always gets **** on and I get it, but over the years I’ll check it out here and there and I don’t think they’re that bad

Some assume just because sites make it a specialty means it’s good, when in reality they gotta rely on money specifically from sources that skew the system

And, look, I will usually defer to "composite" ranking, I get it. But it can be very confusing. Particularly when people misidentify WHO did the ranking.

Clearly, on3 liked the kid. 247 too.

I have to believe that the on3 COMPOSITE and the 247 COMPOSITE are going to yield similar results, though.

I think they’re good coaches and **** good recruiters but these urban legends about them are just wild to me. It’s like if we keep repeating it the truth doesn’t really matter

The word evaluators is overdone these days. With all the combines and all the camps and all the science are there really that many under the radar talents? All the top schools are all recruiting all the top kids. I imagine it’s fairly rare for any school to find one no one else has heard of. And if they do offer, it’s public and now everybody knows about the kid.

I do think, some coaches are better than others at projecting how much a player can improve. Much like NFL GMS and scouts, college coaches fall in love with traits and fail at the psychology game. Other than injury what prevents an elite high school player from developing into the same level of college player? He is a head case. He’s now playing with a lot of players as good as he is and isn’t mature and tough enough to adapt. Or he’s not that bright and can’t step up to a more complex game than he played in high school.

Same in the NFL. All these guys drafted yesterday and today and tomorrow are all big, fast, and run. They can do all the things. Those that fail either get hurt or mentally or emotionally cannot compete.
