I don't care what our budget is. This kid is totally unproven at the college level. Look at Samson.
Sure, look at Mauigoa. You win with the best players. Bama, UGA and now Taint have proven buying chips is the route. Of course that requires an excellent support system of scouting and developing but that has been the formula for 2 decades now. I believe the best route and model to follow is the Clemson route for us. We also have some traction there with our recent QB history. Identify elite talent at QB and then the trenches. Then sprinkle in some elite skill positions here and there strategically. Currently the biggest strength of our HC is that he is an OL guy, so why not continue to prioritize that? The more elite players you get in the HS ranks, the better you will be. So yes, the budget, whatever it is, does in fact matter.

Budgets do not exist with no salary cap. This fanbase needs to come to grips with that. Until guard rails are put up there is no imaginary budget for teams/donors that want to win
Even a teams like Oregon or Taint have budgets. They maybe much higher than other teams, but they have a budget.

Yes, about as confident as a pig going to slaughter on noche buena.

Buckle up

this might be a dumb question but exactly how do recruiting battles go from “UGA has the lead, no Miami has the lead, no Oregon has the lead” and then 6 hours later it’s “Miami has momentum but UGA is fighting” etc etc

Like it all happens in like 24 hours and I guess iv never fully understood the quick swings. I get it’s for clicks as well but is it because coaches called a player or their rep says one team offered a lot more or matched an offer or is it really just sites looking for engagement ?

It’s like a nascar race and we’re in the final lap, but who’s about to get sideswiped at the finish line?

What changes is the insiders gain more information, and as the visit high comes off, they get more real.

Anyone thinking Rosenhaus Sports repping Cantwell was going to be good for us is wild to me. Drew doesnt care about Miami other than if he can make money off of people.

His agency was behind the TVD post spring shakedown where he held Mario hostage, they rep Restrepo convinced him not to play in bowl game, but let him run the 40. Shawn O'Dare specifically.

Did the rep Horton? Not sure.

They were behind Colbie Young transfer to UGA.

No friend of the program.

Knowing we dont have unlimited money, would you pay Cantwell 6 million over 3 years or say a Johnnie Jones 2 million over 3 years?
So you saying he’s an Agent🤷

Still think, “all things $$ being equal”, Drew would not intentionally pull against U. Maybe just my wishful thinking cause he is an AGENT, and a **** good one based on my experience.

Sure I would pay, cause we trying to make noise to become relevant again! Mario being OL going up against Nike & fart for #1 recruit from the Midwest no less would be a huge PR WIN. Also would attract others as well under the category of “stars like to play with stars”.

So intial ROI bump there for sure imo, then comes the development/winning/drafted part which just by being his size, stars almost assures high draft pick baring extreme circumstance which gives you built-in backend PR ROI as well.

The development/winning ROI, leave to that up to the paid dudes, but STARS MATTER, not always right, but PROVEN stats over time.

Hope my contribution goes towards upping this kid’s bag, cause even the non-football intangibles are off the charts.

Go Canes‼

Just because you went to UM in the 80s doesn’t mean you care about our athletic department.

Just ask Rad.

TrumpyCane thinks just maybe he gives Mario a heads up who has the biggest $

At the end of the day he’s out there to get his client the most money

Or Le Batard.

Still, Drew realizes that U been very very good to him And he’s not going to burn that bridge without at least appearing to be respectful, maybe helpful a stretch although like to think what i@TrumpyCane replied/posted is part of it.
