I just don't think Cantwell is as plug-and-play as Francis was and I'm imagining we could get two of the IMG OL for the price of Cantwell.

Unlimited funds - for sure.

One way, originally was a Cane, going to commit during OV (Mother’s Day, seen so many times). Then decided had seen enough (NIL MOU, etc) and didn’t have to wait, take more visits. He probably is that “first domino” insiders waiting to fall for others to start announcing commitments.

When ducks & uga got word they pulled every string (not hard to get Drew to pickup phone, it’s his job $) for another chance, visit. Like TOC posted, getting the #1 recruit on campus big buzz.

Easy sell, “kid this way you make sure you good with first choice AND we probably squeeze out a bit more coin with trips. A Win-Win”

So he knows UM enough and doesn’t need to visit again? He just making sure the other two really should be eliminated?

Or is that open weekend between duck OV and uga UV potentially for coming here again? If so, an Official too? Or is Mizzou gonna pull a hometown surprise last gasp effort?

The Oregon visit being the only current Official known (messaging on other OVs seems up in air) in combo with his “almost home” tweet and the original 4/30 announcement date few days after is tough to overlook.

Another monkey wrench came with the uga UV announcement which seemed to come out of the blue a full week after the Oregon OV-4/30 commitment reveal And forced him to delay commitment date by 2 weeks.

Don’t think we were necessarily strung out by Drew to get the other 2 to raise bids. Believe all things being equal, he would not intentionally hurt U. Forget Alum, living here; So many of his players, connects have come through U!!

Definitely think the kid comes across as sincerely as any kid in his situation could be, so I don’t think he’s playing us either.

In a perfect world, take him at his word and he’s just doubling back to make sure U is the right choice.

In the world we’ve been living for too long (scars from Jeudy, Jobe, AH3, JS etc) these last minute switch-a-roos don’t bode well.

I root for our insiders to be right, but until that next tweet, who the F knows.

Maybe we get all 3 anyways of the guys you're talking about Plus retain the 3 we currently have committed. We need a big OLine class. And then next year either Samson steps up or not and moves on. You got Kinsler who will compete too. Guard and Center spot opens up too with Cooper and Brockermeyer leaving. So yeah I assume McCoy wins starting LG job this year and he's like only guy returning. So... I think the investement on OLine is absolutely needed/worth it.

SJ is the center of the future according to the insiders.

We are essentially saying the same thing on the rest other than I don't think we have the budget to get all three.

I certainly would not want Billy ****** Napier at Miami over Mario. One reason I was supremely confident we would beat them is because it’s one of the few times Mario actually had a game day advantage over an opponent

Probably from the fact that outside year #1 at Miami…He's never had a non top-20 OL at UM or Oregon.

actually true and sad at the same time lol. most weeks, i dont have any confidence that well out smart the other guy on the sidelines.

Lol…Maybe he likes the projects he took better than some highly rated recruits? Mario has his faults obviously, but are you really saying some on3 reporter's opinion on an OL prospect means more than Mirabal/CMC…That's just idiotic.

I want Cantwell...who wouldn't, but I've said 500X and will say it for the duration of their careers here, I'm never worrying about a Mario/Mirabal OL. I don't care about recruiting rankings, projects, portals, etc. I don't care, genuinely. I am 100.0% confident when we line up in late August/early September every single year as long as those 2 dudes are here, we're going to have one of the best lines in America.

So, I'm still confident Cantwell signs here. Kids like him give you THE best line in America, not just "one of". But I'm not gonna lose sleep over it. When we line up against ND in August, our OL is gonna be a bunch of ***-kickers. And that's not gonna change on those dudes' watches.
