Jabari Ishmael in the Portal

We got it, you went to high school there. When we finally sign a guy from there that doesn't suck, I'll buy you a beer.
I didn't actually, but man they must've f^cked you up in high school huh? Seems really personal, point to me where they hurt you.

Let me state it again: you are doubling down on a take that because we evaluated and signed the wrong players from a high school, you want to quit recruiting that school altogether? When there's a plethora of talent from that same high school succeeding in college and the pros?

Take a hike before you embarrass yourself further. That type of mentality is so beta it's hysterically asinine.

we DO need scout team players though
That's for guys like McCoy, Tinilau, Kinsler, Tripp, Sagapolu, Denis, etc.

Seymore, Washington, Rodriguez, and McLaughlin are my primary cut candidates. 2 of the 4 at minimum to move the roster towards a balanced group. You should carry 12-14 OL on the entire roster and we're gonna be at 16 plus anyone else we add from the portal.

I would be utterly shocked if more than 2 stayed from what I've heard prior to the game + seeing how they performed under the lights this past Friday. That should have been their last chance to show any modicum of developmental hope.

It's time to admit our failures under our predecessor, and for both parties to move on.

Manual took him over Patrick Peyton because his pops is on staff. It was a terrible decision. I was pounding the table not let Peyton leave Miami.

He was ACC rookie defensive player of year.

He had a strip sack in our game last season.

Not only does Miami need to do a better job with 4 and 5 stars (Mario is already doing this), but my goodness can we please quit letting the good 3 stars leave the area because we don't offer or recruit hard enough?

Cancey-ACC DPOY
Peyton-ACC RDPOY
AT Perry-All ACC
Mikel Jones-All ACC
Zay Flowers-All ACC
Gabe Jakas-Freshman AA
Damon Alford
Orande Gadson
Brandon Dorlus
Came here to say this, no disrespect to jabari tho i wish him well.

Also we sit up here and cry all day about kids leaving sfla but we literally miss on so many evaluations that could’ve been replacements or even upgrades over the 4 n 5 stars that left smh. Thats why I wont right off mario and his staff taking lower ranked kids, gotta let them evaluate and see what the results are in a couple years

He was a 4 star?

Why do people have to crap on this guy? Wish him the best and move forward with your lives.

Those who do not learn from mistakes are bound to repeat them.

I don’t see anyone crapping on the guy. Not like this board usually does, anyway. But discussing how we got from 2020/the beginning of his recruitment to today is worthwhile.

It’s not that I don’t hear you but the guy in your avatar, who leads this program is a graduate of there and has a “hard on” for his school. And a number of high end donors for UM are graduates of there. MC has made it clear he’s going to recruit there. And previous staff didn’t recruit “well” there as you pointed out.

So if you think this staff won’t break their necks to have a presence there… at THAT school, I wouldn’t bet on that.

Quite literally did not attend Columbus, I like women (contrary to what my avatar apparently suggests, but we do have some Saban *******-sucking simps on here). But go off man. Let it out...maybe Saban will be nice enough to wipe your chin after he's done.

Let's boycott a S.FLA school that produces plenty of talent. I'm sure that would be really smart.

I'm aware. I was just hoping against hope that we could stop taking FIU level players from there.

That's an entirely different point though. Yes - evals have to be much better across the board. But remind me who recruited Roberts, Ishmael, Rodriguez...

Only one we have worth a **** is Parrish and he was brought in via portal. Completely different person (+Highsmith) in charge of evals now, so it's not exactly apples to apples.

So he comes out of high school as a 4 star and doesn't play here so he's labeled as a FIU caliber player? Alrighty then.
