J. Jackson

He has the slowest get off out of all the dlinemen. Just look, he is usually the last one to come out of his stance. He is another one of out many overrated defensive players.

Hes been projected on plenty of preseason draft boards as a first rounder, by real scouts. Yes I know preseason doesn’t always indicate much, but to act like he’s severely overrated by our fan base isn’t fair. Kid is ultra talented. If he was healthy he would be putting up the numbers we all expected

Last year everyone did work. Trent, Chad, rj, norton, etc.

This year d Jax & j Jax have taken a step back. Willis didn’t play last year, so who knows. Garvin has been solid, but he was last year too. Who has taken a clear step forward?

Kul is the best in the business. Saban poached him. Let’s not act like it’s not a loss.

What are your talking about? Garvin has twice the tackles he had last year in 2 and 1/2 games. DJax and JJ are not close to 100%.

The arm is clearly hampering him. He also doesn't have Chad Thomas chasing QBs into his arms anymore either. I believe the D line has been very good so far this year. Clearly, we'll need to see more of them against better competition but Willis is looking like our best 3 technique since Sapp, and GArvin and Patchan have been all over the place. I can't wait to see Nesta in the rotation more.

I meant Willis and Garvin are playing well. Willis, we don't know if he progressed or regressed bc he didnt play last year. Garvin looks great. The rest of the guys looked better under Kul than Simpson.

DJax (before season ending injury) and JJ were healthy last year. You are not factoring in both are not even close to 100% this year. How do you judge Bethel who got maybe 150 snaps all of last year? You cannot. Bethel has 6 tackles in 3 games. He had 18 in 13. Ford had 1 assist in 7 games last year. He has 3 assists this year.

Bottomline, you cannot judge until we are well into conference play in my opinion.

Garvin will be the much better player.

Its amazing how quickly the fans are to say someone is not good, they are overrated. What you don't get about him being injured? He probably wouldn't even been playing if we had proper depth. He prolly should be looking at a redshirt. Not to also mention, the injury probably made him miss a ton of practice before the season started. He played well last season and had a bunch of sacks chalked off due to penalties, could have had 10 or 11, so people acting like dude was going down and down from Fr year is false. No, he got injured and would be balling out just like Garvin.

He’s def coming off the ball hella slow. I remember he said that Simpson has emphasized more of run defense so I wonder if that has anything to do with it. The brace must be very limiting. Doesn’t look like himself.

I do recall people saying Simpson is more focused on stopping the run than Kool was. Another thing could be that Willis has been so dominant that Joe just has had as manny chances for sacks so far this year as he had last year. Willis is blowing plays up before they even start it seems like.
