Ivey sucks

He's not physical enough to be a linebacker.
He’s not even physical enough to be a safety

People trashing his tackling (for good reason) also want him to be a LB?

It’s a nice thought but would end up about as good as Tate Martell at QB (right now anyway)

Could change in the future of course. He certainly has the tools

Exactly, it's like saying we should move a RB who cant catch to WR.

Ivey lost me with his lack of effort against Georgia Tech in 2019; Miami losing to that 1-5 team in overtime as Ivey took a nap on that fake punt and got burned for a score.

Redeemed himself with some big plays at Pittsburgh a week later, but had zero humility about it—acted as if he didn't choke the week before; all that "how do you like me now?" nonsense, as if he didn't give a game away a week prior.

His play against the Panthers was an aberration, not a new norm as he quickly went back to being a mediocre player. Thought a lightswitch went off, but nope. Three years later, still that dude.

He's a 6'6" Corner.

We don’t see “Maudes” or “@Maudes”. You’d have to tag us individually, assuming we’re on the board or at least report the thread with the report function which is the best way.

@Andrew , not sure why the main board wasn’t locked during the game but this thread is a good reason to do so.

Thanks,

I thought he was asleep at the wheel but it was the other reason things go wrong on that front- he did something to the code to change something else that messed with his instant board locking function and he simply opted to not fix it over dealing with the inconvenience of fixing it. Lol

None of us knew this in advance btw.

I'm not the guy who named him captain and starter.

We all see what happens in the games. My job is to tell you guys what happens in practice and what the coaches are saying. That way, you aren't surprised when DJ Ivey is starting for his third consecutive DB coach.

My personal analysis of Ivey the past two years has been: great practice player, good kid, thinks too much in games, needs to tackle better and play with more confidence if he's going to be on the field. That opinion is separate from the fact that he came out of camp the unquestioned starter.
That's an indictment on the previous staff...and absolutely NO excuse for a program that for the longest time was called DBU...

Priorities!

He was probably stumbling around the F1 paddock looking for the old Blue Lot mumbling under his breath about the good ole days…

Maybe not him, but I know **** well it happened on Saturday to someone here 🤣

Has got to be the greatest Greentree all American ever

Still a fan of of the time where he just stopped and watched the guy run right past him for a touchdown. Epic ****.

Needs weight.... He does have the tools but needs the body to match it... He'll be better physically when his body can take the bumps...

Yeah when I say not physical enough I don’t mean soft. He’s not soft. He just goes for that kill shot hit too much, not very technically sounds at tackling. Not sturdy enough. Not things you want in a LB

It was a candyman approach.
