The Cincinnati Bengals drafted Miami Hurricanes cornerback D.J. Ivey on Saturday on day 3 of the NFL Draft. Ivey, a product of South Dade High School, was selected 246th overall in the 7th round.

Ivey's impressive performance at his pro day caught the attention of many teams, including the Bengals. He recorded a 4.46-second 40-time, a 39-inch vertical, a 7.19-second 3-cone drill, and a 4.21-second 20-yard shuttle. At 6-1 and hovering around 200 pounds, Ivey’s physical tools excited NFL teams.

The Bengals' new addition marks the third Miami Hurricanes player selected this year. Ivey's teammates, Tyrique Stevenson and Will Mallory, were also drafted earlier in the event. Stevenson, another cornerback, was picked by the Chicago Bears in the second round, while tight end Mallory found a new home with the Indianapolis Colts in the 5th round.

Congrats to Ivey! Imo he greatly improved under Addae. He made his mistakes like everyone else in the troubled secondary, but he definitely got better from 2021 to 2022 as evidence of him getting drafted by the 2nd best team in the AFC. Give a guy a chance and you never know what might happen.

Good luck to him. He was never at any point a good college player but seems like a nice kid and maybe he gets much better as a pro

Obviously an organization who has been successful the last couple of years doesn't think so. Take your hatred elsewhere. Ivey doesn't deserve it and I don't know who Ariz is.
Hate? It’s an observation. An opinion.

Ariz: The egomaniacal unibrow that wrote the copy/wire “article” for Ivey’s being drafted by the Bengals. You must be new here.

You were probably hating on Ivey during the 5 years he was here. No point getting upset over this. Move on with life. Yea I don’t know anything about Ariz.

It's crazy the amount of hate Ivey got here albeit understandable...yeah he was underwhelming during his time here but there's guys sitting in a board room who make way more than we do to make these decisions. Obviously they believe that they can bring the best out of the young man...let them then. He's living the dream whether he makes it or not

Why we gotta be the fanbase that shyts on former players because they didn't do well here? Let them gone on and be who TF they are supposed to be. If Ivey gets his **** together and makes it in the league some of the same muphukas will praise him and say they knew he had it in him. Let's see what the kid does with his opportunity
