I've got news for ya...Miami is winning this weekend

I hope we Destroy UNC....But the Offensive gameplan better be alot more innovative than the Garbage I saw against GT....
You mean like the previous 4 games?? Why is it such human nature to watch one game and act like thats how its going to be for the rest of the year? Geeze

Miss me with the BS excuses....where was that vaunted offensive gameplan last Sat??..We'll see soon enough. What I saw last Saturday night was unequivocal trash. Make all the excuses you want.

This proves my point. We were +1 before the game. If we win like we were supposed to win (by 19-21) then in all likelihood it would have been at least -1 Miami. We looked like **** against a horrible GT team, then we had that late game blunder--it was a complete embarrassment.

I am not even saying we are going to win. I am saying we can win and that we would have been favored but for the horrible game. How is this controversial?

Saturday night doesn't happen and we win like we are capable and the line Sunday morning isn't+3 Miami--it's -1 Miami. I might be wrong, but it's not an unreasonable position.
I’m only commenting on your opinion of the line. Miami was never gonna be a favorite on Sunday morning after what Carolina did to Syracuse. Doesn’t matter if the score ended 52-0 Miami. Would it not have jumped 2-3 points in Carolina’s favor? Obviously.

Again, you ignore 4 games and base your analysis on one. That's all I am saying

oh true you only did comment about the line. The rest of my comment was directed at another poster.

yeah i believe our defense will win this close one!

Just a quick R output I put together.

ORANGE dots are the total points scored each season after a bye week.
GREEN dots are the total points score each season in the second game after the bye week.

Just thought it was interesting to note that we have not scored more points in the second game after a bye than the first week after the bye (since 2018). Considering the score on Saturday (which currently the '23 boxplot has as an outlier; although in the four ppg sample size we have for the season so far three of those experimental units came from considerably inferior opponents), you very well may be correct that this is going to be a game won by Guidry and Co. I think so too. This game will be decided by how effective Maye is against our D, turnovers, and who blinks first on special teams.

I’m a thinkin Miami won’t be in a position to knee it out against North Carolina.
The Used ta be ACC front runners betta buckel em up an be reddy to roll Satday sun! Crystalballs gits paid a dang site more then most of us yahoos out here, so he dang sho awta be abel ta thank on hiz feet a little. HeII, Skeet knowed ta take a nee at da end of da tech game.

It's a must win so I hope so.

They're gonna double or bracket Restrepo. Hopefully we use our TEs finally to get around a lack of Restrepo.

Mesidor playing would be nice

Miami HAS to utilize the TEs. Dawson needs to show some of that creativity we saw against atm. LBs are gonna need to keep an eye on their QB. Kam needs a make up game.

If this team is different (and it seems they are...it took an act of god and the corchingest decision to ever happen for this team to lose to GT)...this team should beat UNC.

Last year, in the Gattis system - and I believe this was the game where Gattis started doing things TVD was more comfortable with - TVD torched'em for almost 5 bills in what was a really close game...one I think we all thought was going to be a win for Miami until nearly the end of the game.

Drake Maye is good...Top 5 pick good...but look, he had a 2 INT game v. South Carolina and Minnesota this year. 2 INT game versus us last year. Clemson last year, also 2 INTs. He can be touched up. He's not perfect. Our defense can handle this, but our corners...wooooo...they need to step up. It could be a bad bad game for Jaden Davis, TeCorey Couch, and Daryl Porter if we don't get home and after the QB fast enough.

To be fair, the "nobody" South Carolina squad that Carolina beat by 2 touchdowns and held to -2 rushing yards, lead Georgia by 2 touchdowns at halftime. They went on to lose that game by 10.

Also, App State is not exactly a "nobody". They can be a pretty legit squad.
You're right. They played some good teams. I guess I feel like we've played a team on the UNC level with A&M but they haven't played a team on our level yet.

We still had 450+ yards of offense. The game plan wasn't garbage but the execution absolutely was. Turnovers/bad decisions from TVD and backbreaking penalties at the absolute worst times made it seem like our game plan was worse than it was. But the OL did their job and there were plenty of open receivers all night.

If UNC plays mostly man TVD will probably do very well. They play more zone and we could see more of GT. Obviously, Dawson needs to plan accordingly.

Before last Saturday I'd think we'd how them out. Mario took all the trust I had and put it in a bag with his ****, lot it on fire, and processed it through a wood chipper.

The playcalling was atrocious....No sweeps, no Misdirections, no end around, no wheel routes...nothing but running up OLmens azzes....I'm well aware we had 450yds of offense...and we'd have had 700yds with the slightest of innovation. F-around and have the same type of gameplan this Saturday, and it'll be Disastrous.

The team that beat the Aggies can certainly win this Sat. There really is no predicting this season. Every game’s a winner and every game’s loser.

UNC has arguaby been the gnarliest thorn in our side since 2004, although UVA, GT and VT have strong cases.

Miami is 8-11 vs UNC since 2004
Miami has won 3 out of 9 contests at UNC.
Miami is 2-6 in the last 8 meetings.
Miami has lost to UNC 4 times in a row.
Van Dyke threw 3 INTs in his only start at UNC.
Van Dyke threw for 496 yards, 3 TDs vs UNC in 2022.
None of this matters and I hope Miami wears white/white.
