ITT We Discuss Possible Golden Replacements

Magic City...are u being serious?

Did you not see the NFL talent he brought to UNC.....anybody who thinks he didn't bring in great talent there is just stupid.

CLUE IN PEOPLE......BUTCH WILL BE A GREAT HIRE AND SHOULD BE THE GUY

What has he done since 2000 to warrant being hired by any major program as a head coach?

Let's see...for starters, he took a crappy program at UNC and made them into a contender in the ACC. His defenses at UNC were scary good. Also took the Browns in the NFL to their only playoff appearance in many years. Also built the greatest collection of talent in CFB history. But you're right...he sucks.

Call me crazy for this one, but why not David Cutcliffe, Duke head coach?

Guy made Duke relevant... DUKE!!! Is a certified STUD as a QB coach, his offense is really good and did I mention he made DUKE relevant?

i don't think butch is perceived as a shady guy

I don't think so either, but hiring Blake makes you wonder what he was thinking. As I recall, that guy had a reputation (even on the message boards) before Butch brought him aboard.

I don't know if a Butch hire is possible or not. What I do know is that I saw some of his UNC teams play a fast and aggressive style with an attitude I have not seen at UM in maybe the last eight years. I also saw talented guys come out of that program, developed and ready for the next level.

If Butch is not a possibility, I wouldn't mind someone who gets those results. Here in Miami, the wins would follow.

I wouldn't mind Cutliffe AT ALL.

But part of me says the right thing to do here is hire a hurricane, or someone with ties to the program. The administration is going to want to go with stability in this spot.

Butch, Tubberville, or Chud are all realistic choices. Schiano is probably a pipe dream.

NZ, agreed.
i used to be in the camp that UM would never bring butch back. i don't think that's the case anymore. different administration here. i didn't like the way he left, but, i didn't know all the details either. and, at this point, i'm willing to forgive a lot of ills on how he left and his unc ordeal.

I'm sorry Farchie. All you had to say is he engineered the construction of the 2001 title team. That's all that needs to be said. *drops mic*

His understanding of how to win at Miami is unparalleled.

His eye for talent at the player level and coach level is second to none.[/QUOTE]

"His understanding of how to win at Miami is unparalleled." Funny.

He was 1-5 vs. FSU, 1-5 vs. VT, 0-2 vs. East Carolina. Lost 66-13 to Syracuse the week before beating undefeated UCLA. Short memories around here.

his guy Robert Quinn is tearing it up in the NFL lead the league in sacks this year

I'd Keep Carroll on as TE Coach and let Hurlie coach DB's. Take Rumph off this list. Otherwise I like it.

Schiano was probably a pipe dream prior to his stint in Tampa. Now that he has that out of his system, he might would be open to coming back to college.

For the record I'd cut off a body part for Petrino.

But I'm well aware this administration lacks both the intelligence and foresight to make that hire. There's probably a greater possibility of Bill Belicheck being our next HC.
