ITT We Discuss Possible Golden Replacements

Another name to consider Gruden, but Jay Gruden. Young and energetic. Done very good job with Bengals as OC plus has HC experience. His last name will help in recruiting plus big brother can advise him on filling out the staff.

Nice choice but he's a pro guy and he's gonna be up for pro gigs real soon

Whatever happens we need to keep Coley and Hurley. This is a difference making class, and we need to keep it together. Also, give Coley two more classes and we will be right up there talent wise with anyone in the nation.

There are many interesting comments on this board, but let me pose an argument and I will is back and read responses!

Mario Cristobal is the best choice for the next U job. He is cheap, a disciplinarian, good recruiter, is liked by the Tri-county community, has worked under greatness in Alabama, and has a chip on his shoulders to prove everyone wrong.

I say 2 million a year and at least a five year return.

Clint Hurtt is never coming back
strong is a Gator, not wanted
butch, liability and not liked at The U
Chudz great coordinator not a proven coach
Dorsey needs experience
Leech and Kiffin loose cannon
Tuberville past his prime
Orgeron has a criminal past in Miami, not likely to be liked by our president
Mack Brown past his prime
Gruden senior no college experience
gruden jr will become an NFL coach
Chidzik great coordinator

So, Cristobal is what's left. Hate it, but embrace it!

I'm afraid it wont matter who the next coach is until the real money in the UM community - not the piddling Uncle Luke's and shysters like Shapiro of South Florida - get serious about winning.

**** yeah....enough with the Boy Scouts. Give me the guy that's won everywhere he's been. As long as he keeps it in his pants the dude can flat out coach football.

Petrino would be here for 2 years tops. He would bolt the second a school offers him more money.

Couldn't disagree more on Mario. He's a south Florida version of Al, just with miami ties. If we change, need not just good recruiter, need great coach too. Mario isn't.

Mario Cristobal the guy with a 27-47 career record. The guy FIU thought they could do better than. I am going to just go ahead and start planning for our next coach after him. Where do you guys think Ken Dorsey will be in 4 years?

Found this list on another site on Candidates that will be pursed possibly.....

Charlie Strong*-*current coach at Louisville and who would be a monster in South Florida recruiting.* Canes fans would welcome his defensive intensity, though his record with the NCAA may not be as welcomed in*the current probationary times at Miami.

James Franklin- one of the hottest names mentioned on nearly every*major opening in college football.* Franklin’s done wonders at Vandy were people perceive that it’s tough to win.* Thus, he’s a very attractive option.

Rob Chudzinski- It didn’t work out with the Browns, but it was working so well in Miami as an offensive coordinator and what a relief it would be to be welcomed by the entire Cane’s Fam as one of their own.* Chud, as the fans call him, would be a*stud hire if selected.

Bobby Petrino- A good coach despite off the field issues.**Not sure Miami would be willing to take the risk.

Ed Orgeron- Another Cane who could garner interest.* Did wonders at USC but if they didn’t see his potential, would Miami?

F it. Bring me the pirate.
- Maintain Coley for recruiting and let him keep the "Offensive Coordinator" title with Leach actually running the offense
- Hire a real DC
- Profit

Who do you say are the top coaching candidates we look at if Golden goes to Penn State. I believe the following people would be looked at because of their ties to UM.

1. Greg Schiano (Ex Tampa Bay Coach)
2. Rob Chudzinski (Ex Browns Coach)
3. Jedd Fisch (Offensive Coordinator Jacksonville)

If you all have learned nothing else from previous coaching searches at Miami it is that they will never hire the big name expensive HC or the HC that all the fans are clamoring for. So cross Strong, Franklin, Narduzzi, Chud, Butch and Schiano off

LOL i've only seen one thread even similar talking about coaching candidates and it was not even serious. If you don't like the post, move on then.
