It's time.

Right now $61M. Dream on if you think this school is spending that. Next year expect it to be in the low 50s. It doesn’t matter what any of us think. Dude is here through next season.

Expect the school to go cheap on the next hire. We will either promote a coach on staff or raid Temple again. Enjoy.

I’ll say one thing on this.

When he gets canned; the NIL collective dries up.

Simple as that.
I respectfully disagree with this narrative, Miami in general is a front runner City anything that’s on and Poppin everybody wants to be part of

You get a coach down here who can do more with less, and I believe the resources will gradually come back

They don’t understand that. This isn’t LSU, where the donors love the University and will be there. These donors will bail if Mario is canned, especially if he continues to win 8-10 games per year.

Scorched earth firing of Mario isn’t happening anytime soon no matter how frustrated we are, myself included.

Do we really play in a dog **** conference? I hear this every year yet we struggle. Can't blow anyone out and put them away. Until further notice Miami is just another middle of the pack ACC team.
Nope, but the talking heads at E$ECPN want us to think that so they can have all their 2-3 loss good ole boy programs in the CFP despite being mediocre at best. Florida trounced Texas and almost beat Georgia today. We beat them handily. But alas, the SEC is just soooooooooooooTUFF.

Lmao!

Miami goes to 4-8 and 7-5 land with VT, Pitt, and the bottom feeders of the ACC.

That’s what’s on deck.
I mean you seem to know what's up.

Legitimately I don't think Mario is a bad guy or coach, but he has to see what's in front of him.

They ran similar stuff with Bama while he was there, but really became dominant when they opened up the offense.

He has to see this right? RIGHT? haha

Pump is he mother f****** brakes.

We have committed and paid a s*** ton of money for Mario to come and be here.

We are just flipping recruits this week and that he's still building up the talent.

Our defense is actually very good.

But now our offense sucks because we don't trust Beck and we keep wanting to f****** run the f****** ball and wear out our offensive line.

Teams have adjusted to Dawson and he's now not adjusting and he needs to be fired frankly.

Or if it is more of that the keeps demanding these same vanilla offense then yes maybe he should be fired,

but we're not going to fire him anytime soon.

I think the team should take the week off from practice and meetings. Just show up for the game. It looks like it’s doing more harm than good. This bunch doesn’t respond any way. Just pathetic

Better players. Missed playoffs last year because no talent on D. Now we have a defense and got a 4 million dollar bust at QB.
How do we get better players when we spend a ton of NIL and have maybe the most relentless head coach when it comes to recruiting?

Spend more? Recruit harder? Hope for the best?

I’m with you but I think we are punching our ceiling with him

Fixing an entire defense isn’t easy but he did it in one offseason (except for LBs of course). We just needed above average QB play (didn’t need elite) to be a playoff team, even with us being so heavily penalized. NFL GMs constantly get it wrong and it sets the team back a decade. We are lucky this can be fixed in one offseason.

Said time and again- a dual threat QB is a cheat code in college. Cristobal needs to learn this.

Contract expires 2032. Buckle in boys, gonna be a long time before we win it again. He'll give us a solid floor and he'll leave it better than he left it, but he isn't the guy unfortunately which sucks because he wants it more than anyone on this board.

The two metrics that I've noticed that give me (a little) pause are these:

1. Miami has a really young overall roster. It's younger than last year and one of the younger ones of the last 13 years
2. Of the two losses that we had, they were to the teams that had the most average college football experience (Louisville and SMU)
We lose Beck, Cici, Bell, our center, Bauman, Cooper and I think McCoy on offense. That is 7 starters.
We lose Bain, Moten, Blay, Mesidor, Wes, Toure, Thomas and Scott. That is 8 starters LOL 15 out 22

I don't know what Mario's buyout would be. I'm guessing, it will probably cost about $28m to move on from him, and around another $5m-$10m for the assistants. But if there ever was a time to do it, it's now. Yes, LSU, UF, and PSU all have openings, but Miami would be right there in the mix as a top job. Obviously, we have a good roster coming back (if players stay; and depending on the coach, they would return), a top 15 class, we play in dog **** & wide-open conference, updated facilities, a national brand, easy path to the CFP, and on, and on.

Why is the time now to do it?

Lane, Dillingham, Drinkwitz, Lea, Heupel, Sumrall, Huff, and of these guys would take Miami to the next level.

Mario ain't it. It's over. He can't win games in November; he consistently loses games Miami is favored, his ball control offense keeps opposing teams in the game, Miami is terribly undisciplined, and although Hetherman was a great hire, Gattis, Steele, Strong, Guidy, and now Dawson were and are failures. Is there any doubt now that Ward, Restrepo, Arroyo, Martinez, Fletcher, and a way better 2-5 WR depth made Dawson.

I can't stand Nevin Shapiro. But I admit I listened to his "Willis McGahee" podcast, and there's no doubt that rat was telling the truth about Mario and members of his staff not liking him (hello, Dawson).

Next season's schedule for a new coach is set up pretty nicely. Home games against Florida A&M, FSU, Pitt, Central Michigan, BC, and VaTech, with road games at ND, Clemson, UNC, Stanford, and Wake Forest.

Add to this very favorable schedule, probably the best roster returning in the ACC.

Support for the program is only going to get worse next season after another 3-4 losses (even with another very favorable schedule).

It's time. Cut the cord. Move on from Mario.
Almost every one of those guys you mentioned isn’t coming here and if you think Miami is buying him out when the powers that be are the ones that brought him in I don’t wanna be wrong. I don’t know what to tell you, but you might want to ask if you can go to fantasy Island.
