It's now official: Maryland fires Edsall

Why on earth would they fire Edsall? They played Ohio State tough for 1 to 2 quarters. Isn't that what football is all about?
 
$3.1 million buyout. We're probably waiting until Alfredo's is 30 bucks and a couple of whole pies from The Big Cheese.
 
At this point, the only thing I can come up with is that Blake and the admins are waiting until we are officially out of the Coastal hunt before they pull the trigger. Marylands season is over. They got another 3-4 losses guaranteed losses on their schedule. (Iowa, MSU, Wisc) No use in denying the inevitable.

At the beginning of the season I said he would be fired after we lost to FSU/Vtech/Clemson consecutively. At that point we would be out of the ACC Coastal hunt. That is when I believe they pull the trigger.

Everyone is saying about these jobs opening up...what makes you think these teams WANT Golden???????
 
Firing Golden today does nothing for this season. No coach from outside the program will take the job mid-season. by firing Golden today, you just promote an assistant to head coach. Butch or JJ or Schiano or anyone else is not taking the job mid-season.

The key is how quickly they move once the regular season is over and not after some crappy bowl game we will play in.

Maryland is going after a big name coach. They are trying to be a legit program so Butch is very feasible. They have that UA money. They are trying to make Maryland relevant.

Hopefully Adidas storms into Blakes office and pushes him aside and takes over our ****** program. We need one visionary one person that sees how beneficial a successful football program can be for the University

Maryland has an athletic department full of potatoes, yet they are a step ahead of Miami. What Blake James or the BOT thinks they are going to learn over the next 7 games that we don't already know in 4.5 seasons is beyond me. We all know that if Golden was the COO of any one of the BOT members companies, he'd have been ****canned at the end of year three. It's a business, not a ******* charity you dumb *** BOT members.

Who said anything about them wanting Golden?

The point is that by Maryland firing Al Golden's twin brother early, Maryland has a head start on finding a real coach. We will be competing with every major program with an opening for whatever talent is available in the coaching pool. That's why I wish they would go ahead and can Alfredo now. We need to be working feverishly on procuring a head coach right now!
