Melvin Bratton said it best. Golden doesnt get it. he talks about how great UVA is. smh. it's not going to be a Patterson and/or any other coach who has no tie to south florida or the program. It will be a Butch Davis, Mark Stoops, Chud, etc that brings us back.

Those 3 are the only candidates for this job. They were here when we were wining. They know what it takes.

i make it clear butch and stoops are my favs. my concern with Chud who alot of people i know respect and love is that he will bolt to the NFL.

understanding south florida recruiting is a different breed. You can't compare Michigan to what UM is fighting UF and FSU for.
 
JJ was great. Erickson one can argue won with his talent and ran us into our bad period in the 90s. JJ came here when there wasnt really an established tradition, now the U means something totally different.

I agree. I just don't buy into the idea that retreads are imperative.

That said, fire Golden and figure out the replacement later.

This. Get me the best possible coach. I don't care if he's lived in China his whole life and never even heard of the city of Miami.

Once we box ourselves in to a "Miami guy" we lower our chance of getting a solid coach.
 
coaching tree matters which is why i dont get people saying "Golden is from the Al Groh coaching tree." Al Groh is a guy miami would never hire. i know some will say
Well its parcells tree" but its not to me.

Doesn't have **** to do with knowing Miami. Has a lot to do with knowing how to coach football.
