It was never personal until tonight...

When Manny Diaz conveniently was "caught" standing alone in the empty stadium, looking like a sad puppy dog, he achieved his goal of fooling the rubes once again.

"Manny cares so much, it's so sad" "I feel bad for this guy, it just didnt work out". Hook. Line. and Sinker.

Manny Diaz is a story of incredible self promotion, and his only goal since he got hired back in 2016 was to endear himself to the fans. Tonight's staged photo was the last straw for me. Everything this mfer does is in an effort to get the fans to "like" him; to self promote. The turnover chain. The boat ride to FSU's camp. The Manny Montana image. The endless blitzes against hapless GT and Duke to pad his TFL stats. The twitter game. The stories about his childhood at the OB with his scumbag dad (who ironically killed the OB). The pretense that this is his "Dream job" despite never attending UM nor working here previously.

None of that stuff, NONE OF IT, was ever about what is most important: THE TEAM. The young men. But it got him an undeserved raise to be the head man for 4 million dollars a year, bc people fall for shameless self promoters.

This FSU grad, gimmick defense, never played a down in his life, "Daddy gave me my jobs" charlatan made me sick tonight with that selfish, woe is me picture. If he really cared, he'd quit, and give his current salary to the players. If he REALLY cared, he'd be in the locker room with players coaching them, not taking "candid" photos so the simpletons can feel sorry for him and want to give him another chance. Get this piece of trash out of my fuggin face!

He conned the U to spend 4 mill believing he was the savior that was going to bring championships back to the U. He conned his way pretending to be a cane when he is a nole. He conned his way in to a 3.5 mill per year contract with an extension and buy out. Off camera he’s laughing all the way to the bank.

he never felt bad for the coaches he has been firing left and right. I dont care about this dude. he bluffed his way into the job.
his ego caused him to hold onto to DC spot this year.
this clown would still be playing king, Gaynor, cam, etc over the kids we saw bring us back today if they weren't injured.

OK, reality check time now. He didn't con anyone. Blake James wasn't conned into hiring Diaz, he was **** bent on hiring Diaz for the same reason he hired DiMare. Boosters and board members want to hook up their friends and family. Blake James isn't there to make sure Miami sports are successful , he's there to carry out the bidding of the power brokers. James was going to stay in their good graces whether Diaz succeeded or not since he did what they asked. That's how cronyism works. And seeing as the rumors are that at worst James is getting moved to another position in the department and there is basically no chance he actually gets fired, it just proves my point.

Bingo. He dug his own grave this off-season.

We'll see if he loves UM as much as he puts on....when fired will he waive his buyout like CMR did to help the program? I seriously doubt he will....CMD is a try hard guy, the walk on who never gets a scholarship or gets on the field, but ppl like him since he gives max effort. I liked the guy, but in several ways OP is right especially in the sense that he was never qualified to be our HC in the 1st place

not sure if it was staged or not, but a grown man throwing himself a pity party might soften some of you guys up, but I could give 3 fcks. This aint about feelings, its about not getting the job done. Manny says we're a good team, but the record doesnt show it, incorrect we are a talented team, but a sht team and the record clearly shows it. No discipline, no accountability, just bullsht excuses and pity party pics.

Do I think Manny tried to run before he could walk, yes when it came to coaching at Miami (he may have done better for himself staying at Temple). But I don't think he's trying to lose on purpose just for a paycheck. I also don't think a person who went to a rival school makes a difference when it comes to coaching.

100%

He has nobody to blame but himself. An insane person who kept doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. Fire coaches bring in new ones but keep the same outdated philosophy. Bring in new talented players but continue to play the old ones. This is when reality comes full circle for him. Sitting there now thinking “what if” “I should have” “if I could just”. It’s too late and he knows it

Spot on. You can't "con" people forcing money and opportunity into your hands by their own preexisting volition.

As far as the picture from last night, it serves him no benefit. "Hey Blake, take a pic from the other side of the stadium of me looking like a dejected failure on the verge of vomiting! That'll get me another year here or make me look extra alpha for my next job!"

Occam's Razor- this ain't some elaborate con but just emblematic of the shortcomings of our inept administration and athletics "influencers" in making head coaching hires.
