It was Beck who got in Dawson's ear about Fletcher at halftime

I’m hoping that this game that if it’s the opposite and we can’t run that he won’t continue to run into a wall until Beck tells him “ we can’t move them up front so maybe we should throw a little more”..

I'm sure, but have you had someone tell you how something looks and been like, yeah I'm coming to see that **** for myself. Perspective is important and I wouldn't want to rely on another person's eyes for it in real time. I'm sure there's a reason he's on the field, but our spotters just didn't tell him they could land a jumbo jet in the lanes up front?

you are speculating and i would think you are wrong.

he's on the field so that he can talk directly to the QB and others. being up there is overrated, that job can be managed by GAs.

Dawson talked about it himself yesterday. He was asked about Beck and what he brings to the team as an experienced player. Dawson talked about how smart Carson is and how he contributes a lot about what he sees on the field. Carson is unselfish about his own stats; he just wants to win. If that means running all game, so be it.

He said in another interview he did not make the change until someone told him how many yards Fletcher was gaining well after the half.

I do not think you can trust all these comments.

That's fair. I'm definitely speculating. It just seems like he either doesn't get pertinent feedback or doesn't listen. His playcalling throughout the year has been frustrating at times.

What's funny is that Mario took his hands off the offense post-SMU game. And the TAMU was clearly the game where Mario should've went to Dawson and be like "if you run the ball nonstop right now, we'll have another game where you can let it air out more."

First drive it was clear as day that we could gash them
Ironic.

Dawson was the human on earth that was not thinking what EVERYONE ELSE was already saying …. “They can’t stop the run … keep running”
I had a friend over watching who has not followed Miami closely this year and towards the end of the first half I was explaining to him how for a large portion of the year the play calling was to keep running it up the middle whether it worked or not. I told him how fans were getting so frustrated with that play calling and were making A Gap For Life shirts etc, but that they finally opened up the offense and moved away from just running up the middle and it worked. But now I did not understand why they were not calling more runs up the middle when it was clear that they were working vs A&M.

Pretty frustrating in the first half that someone like me - who is not a football expert by any means - could see that the runs up the middle were working and questioning why they weren't doing more of it.

He saved the season by getting creative with the offense and forcing teams to defend the perimeter but there’s no way he couldn’t see what everyone else in the world saw on Saturday. That A&M was struggling to stop the inside runs. Fletcher was literally the only one getting yardage and they gave him 7 fist half carries. When your starting running back is getting 7 yards a carry, you should probably keep giving him the ball and not worry about running trick plays.

I don't care where we run the ball just don't make it so ******* obvious that the other team can put 20 guys in the box.. then call it an execution problem. Like come on man, you don't have to make it so hard on your offense. Even my dumb *** can stop you if I know what you're going to do every play.
