It should have been our year

I know I'm beating a dead horse. But seeing Pitt handling Wake, I can't help but think what could have been. How on earth did we lose to Virginia, North Carolina and Florida State this year? And in case anyone forgets, it was 17-14 Michigan State v Miami with around 4 minutes left in the 3rd before our defense collapsed.

10-2 or 11-1 in the ACC CG against Wake. An outside shot at the playoffs. That's the alternate reality year that should have been.

That's why Manny will be let go. Failed to deliver and the team looked awful for the 1st 4-5 games.

Anyone who knew Diaz was Randy Shannon 2.0, already knew the outcome.

I knew his defense was trash and he couldn't recruit because he was too slick. But I thought he had enough politician in him to overcome his weaknesses by surrounding himself with quality assistants. He got it done with the Offense. He fired Baker and hired TRob. If he had just closed the deal with Muschamp or some other great DC, I think we would have had a much different outcome.

But f-him, he was handed the keys to the kingdom and wasted it.

On the job training. Randy fired and hired too. Heck, Randy’s first OC was from GT because of how well he played against his defense. Just like Enos vs. Diaz.

We saw this show. It was a rerun.

Remember that when you see people argue for Diaz to get another year.

Be thankful it wasn‘t. If it was, I think it would have been a fluke, a down season for Clemson. Manny would not about to be fired, and the new-found interest from the Billionaires Club nowhere to be seen. Manny extended. And then downhill from there.

This season is a blessing in disguise.

You answered your own question. And to be fair, there hasn’t been a year since we went to divisions that shouldn’t have been our year.

Not to defend Manny, but it wasn’t exactly a kingdom he got the keys to. More like a small, poor village that happens to be near mineral deposits that could make them rich if they found a miner to help them.

A trash coach that's how we lost.

Correct. And it doesn’t make you a “lesser fan” for realizing it.

In the Virginia game Clarke and Kitchens both dropped interceptuons in the end zone that led to td's eiether on the same play or next and this was TVD 1st start not to mention Borragales missed the game winner. North Carolina we were driving around the 10-15 yard line and TVD pass was batted for an INT. FSU Kitchens gave up the 60 yard play with a few minutes to go

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts we’d won the acc.

Facts. Then complete meltdown in 22 with the “loss a lot of seniors and experience” excuse. BYE MANNY
