It doesn't feel like FSU week

It seems like this program hits a new low every year. For the first time since I can remember, I just don't feel the excitement I used to for this game. I can't speak for the players, but based on reports I've seen the team "seems subdued" and there's "no extra hype."

All this "trusting the process" and "just another game" approach has completely neutered this program. Lack of swagger, lack of speed, and robotic approach is completely against everything this program was built upon.

Where is the leadership? Where is the us against the world mentality? Going 0-6 versus FSU is unacceptable. The sad part is that this is a lose-lose situation because even if we do win, it's just going to buy "the process" more time.

In the meantime, below are some highlights from the recent past. Go Canes!

I, like many others here, was at the 2000 game. I was a little nervous on Dorsey's Drive, but I knew we had too many playmakers for us to lose. That's a term seldom heard today. I guess playmakers are ME people.

It is indeed telling when none of my FSU friends have even bothered to taunt me this week. I guess when you play middle-American Conference football most fans ignore you.

Aside from when I check in around here, I keep forgetting it's even FSU week. And even around here it doesn't immediately sink in. It's GREAT to be a Miami Hurricane, eh? Whoosh. Whoosh. Whatever.

I totally agree. ESPN Classic is showing many of the great games from the ever-more-distant past: 1991, 1992, 2002, 2004. I am recording them to try to drum up some interest in the game. Hasn't worked so far.

As a guy that complains constantly about being force fed Yankees-Red Sox, Lakers coverage and anything $EC related, I don't think this game needs to be forced upon the American viewing public too in a primetime network slot. It's sad to finally have to say that.

This is usually the most pumped I am all season, but agree, just not feeling it this year. I'll watch the game, as I will every game that's on, but I'm just ready for this **** to be over.

I would agree with that statment because we really haven't been relevant for about 12 years. Unless something is changed quickly we will become the bottom feeder team of the ACC. Heck, we may even be there now. Don't you remember the buzz this game use to carry nationally?

Lord, I miss Bobby Bowden on the sidelines. So many great memories tied to that look on his face when "it" happened again to him.

We all know what is going to happen dumbo and his crew will out coach Frauden and Doritos. This is like the Christians vs the lions.

I know noles have been kicking the crap out of us lately because our coaching and or teams have sucked, but when we both had good teams and good coaches we ruined their dreams over and over and over again. They have won when there was no way for them not too. We won when it was the best two teams in the frigging country on the field going at it. Give us one frigging coach, just one and we owned their trailer park again.
