People who attack rumph. What elite defensive commits have we gotten since manny’s been here? JJ and the 3 lbs were golden commits. GR was a under the radar kid who I give them credit for finding but name me the amount of kids we have pulled in on defense? Kids didn’t want to play for manny as a dc. They still don’t. We got a few kids because of legacy You can get mad if you want.

Look at offense recruiting since golden left. Kids might not have panned out but it’s full of 4 and even a 5 star. Even this year the offense recruiting was better.

We’re landing the type of guys we need to be landing along the DL, LB, and even a few at Safety. Yet we continue to offer the 6’1+ corners that are usually pretty slow and the only reasoning that’s been mentioned is that Rumph wants corners that look and project like himself.

We could’ve landed 5-6 corners that are P5 starters right now but we offered late or didn’t offer because they were 5’11 or shorter.

Either he needs to land the guys he’s offering (or whoever is offering/controlling who he offers) or start offering more kids and land a few. Sure he’s lost battles to Georgia and Alabama and every position coach is doing that... understandable. But he’s also losing to UCF, South Carolina, Ole Miss, etc and we wouldn’t be in this position if he was winning those battles.

CB recruiting has been too slow and too picky considering our current roster. Also the guys goes to counseling for his recruiting ability and self admitted that. Tell me again it’s not his fault

Garvin-legit offers from Clemson and FSU
Avery Huff
Gurvan Hall
Chantz Williams
Elijah Roberts
All very good players. Glad we have them but we don't get the truly elite. Very good but not elite. Elite means you could start for any team in the country. Anthony Rousseau the only player on our roster that falls into that category. Elijah Roberts could grow into a stud though excited about that kid. Rousseau should have cemented the fact that while it's important to get the five stars there are so many players in South Florida that fly under the radar. Just my opinion.

We get rid of Kool who was a lazy recruiter...and DL recruiting blows up and we land Rousseau, Nesta, Blissett, Hunte, Harvey, Holley, the Williams kids, Miller, etc

We miss on the elite 5 star linebackers because we lose... but no one is complaining about Brooks, Huff, Cave, Steed, Joyner, and even Wilder before injury.

We miss elite safeties but I’ll take Carter, Finley, Derrick Smith, Keontra, Hall, Balom types all day.

You bring up legacies and the only reason Rumph had Blades is because of legacy, he only landed Bandy because he wanted to be a cane his entire life (we offered late), Ivey had hardly any offers, etc. If we took guys that played CB comparable to Smith and Balom types at safety (Delancey is a good example, Keidron Smith and Miguel Edwards in 2018, etc) we wouldn’t be where we are.

Notice how most of those 6'1 corners never play like Rumph. With the exception of Mike Jackson, I don't see these corners lighting people up. Rumph used to put the boom on receivers.

Please stop with this incessant line of excuses old and new for Rumph. Why do you guys feel such an overwhelming need to cape for this dude? Just stop.

Look at the list of guys FROM HIS OWN HS THAT HE COACHED AND WHO GREW UP PLAYING UNDER HIM. He got none of them.

He’s probably a good dude, and I’m sure his friends like him and some dudes want to make excuses for him for other reasons. But he’s proven to be a horrific recruiter. When a guy is coaching 6 dudes he needs to be an elite recruiter. This guy isn’t even to the level of bad.

The only coach on staff people make excuses for & the only reason yall do is because he was a former Cane.

If you don't want Rumph fired that's fine, just admit it's only because he played on those legendary 00's teams & stop trying to justify his failures.

The reaching & spinning yall do for our porous CB recruiting is truly ridiculous bruh, I understand yall love Rumph & simply can't detach your fandom of him from his playing days but the fact is he's sucks at recruiting, that's inarguable.

I like Rumph personally a lot he's a great dude, by that doesn't excuse how bad we fail at recruiting CB's. And before the Rumph Defense committee comes swarming in, NO, I'M NOT SAYING BANDA OR PATKE OR ANY OF THE OTHER COACHES ARE BETTER, THEY SUCK & FAIL AT RECRUTING TOO, I KNOW, YOU DON'T HAVE TO TELL ME...

The difference is no one ever defends Banda or Patke, BOTH of them should be fired & replaced by better coaches, most on the board agree with that & have no problem with them being criticized, because they deserve it, the same applies to Rumph, he's no different than the two of them.

When you take a guy like Kool off the staff and replace him with Jess Simpson who is high energy and busts his *** on the trail DL recruiting takes off vs barely fielding a full DL under Kool.

Same thing would happen with CB and DB recruiting if you replace Rumph with a guy like Corey Bell or whoever else.

People though Kool was a great DL coach yet we improved under Simpson who proved to be just as good because he was coaching better players. Same thing could happen at DB.

If his name was Mark Dump and he didn’t play for Miami, CIS wouldn’t allow him to wash dishes behind Banda’s bar....

When is the last time we've landed "truly elite" defensive players down here period? 1st round pick types haven't been coming to Miami on defense in general. They're definitely landing a bunch of 4 star talent. Rumph is recruiting the most talent littered position in SFLA and he's striking out. He's also not even recruiting kids like Tiawan Mullen who go to a school like IU and ball as a freshman. It's not just the elite kids he sucks at recruiting.

The lack of numbers at cornerback is ridiculously bad in itself. I’m willing to let myself believe Rumph is a good teacher/developer/coach. But he is a bad bad recruiter. The team is short 3-5 cornerbacks today. That’s just bodies, not even getting into
the fact that only Blades is “good” and only
Ivey has any other starting experience.

Be prepared to see the Ryan Ragone of cornerbacks or some safeties playing 10-20 snaps a game at corner by midseason if there are any injuries.
