And I’ll keep adding to it... the only other position we’re doing this **** at is OL and look how that turned out. We’re too picky, we don’t offer the kids that several other P5 schools are offering with better OLs than we have. Let other schools do the evaluation. If Oregon is offering Denis... we probably should be too. They know what they’re doing.

QB was the same under Richt. They locked into 1 guy and if they missed him we were screwed. If they turned out to suck... we were screwed.

If TRob is down here offering corners, we should probably be offering them. If Auburn wants a corner in south Florida.. we probably should too. If Mark Stoops wants someone... he can most likely play at Miami too.

When your class is full and more guys want in.. make the tough decision and cut ties and take who you want. Until then, quit being picky or you’ll be left holding your **** on signing day as we always are and we’ll keep playing with 75 players and ***** about depth and having 4 guys at corner in the spring.

Numbers always work themselves out. Take a full class. The portal isn’t the answer and shouldn’t be relied on.

He saved his job landing Christian Williams last year. I could understand giving him another shot thinking maybe he’s figured it out. Then, he goes out and lands 1 guy again. It’s time to be fired. If he doesn’t land at least 1 more guy by Feb, he needs to go at that point in time. No debate. Even then I have a tough time finding a reason to keep him. Anyone can do what he’s doing on the trail.

The difference is no one ever defends Banda or Patke, BOTH of them should be fired & replaced by better coaches, most on the board agree with that & have no problem with them being criticized, because they deserve it, the same applies to Rumph, he's no different than the two of them.

Im not sure about the people you referring to but i defend both rumph and banda, can their recruiting improve,of course, but when you had the #1 pass defense in the nation, and the pass efficiency defense was on point to, i know you can coach. What banda did with carter, redwine and knowles, if that dont prove his worth, alot of yall dont want good coaching you just want nerd recruiting site high ranked recruits. When you got people complaining all last year because guys chose to go elswhere, but the secondary was elite thst means their is a disconnect between reality and nerd recruiting sites. Coach rumph proved his worth with whst he did with guys that he coached who played at a level they never played at until he got here, elder, and jackson balled out. Than the guys under coach rumph from scratch, young, bandy and now ivey, and throw Blades in their who was among the tops in the nation in coverage.

But the real problem is this, why are people concerned about the defensive side of the ball, the main one that needs to be replace is blake before anyone else, after that, patke would be on deck, but ill wait and see how this fresh new set of starting linebackers look 1st. We know that brooks is going to be a baller. Come next year coach diaz is going to have to be a better in game band director. The focus of this team needs to soley be on diaz, the coordinators and the weak link offensive assistants. Coach diaz never should've gotten rid of todd hartley, the boys played hard for em, all of them. But that was a cowards move by coach diaz, and its showing.

Look at the list of guys FROM HIS OWN HS THAT HE COACHED AND WHO GREW UP PLAYING UNDER HIM. He got none of them.

He’s probably a good dude, and I’m sure his friends like him and some dudes want to make excuses for him for other reasons. But he’s proven to be a horrific recruiter. When a guy is coaching 6 dudes he needs to be an elite recruiter. This guy isn’t even to the level of bad.

Rump is a pimple but he is no where the big pimple Diaz and James are.
 
Rumph is a poor recruiter, we all know that. It's been proven over time.

That said, it seemed clear that both Jaden Davis and Asante Samuel were on Rumph's radar but Manny would not let him pull the trigger with offers. So for anyone thinking it's JUST a Rumph problem, i disagree. Recruiting on the defensive side has struggled throughout since Manny arrived. He is a problem at the top.

- 4 star Bethel and Joe Jackson were both recruited by the previous staff and committed before Manny came onboard.
- Outside of Garvin back in 2017, Blissett last year and Chantz/Roberts this year, our Dline recruiting has been average.....it never took off.
- Rousseau, Cam Williams, Hunte, Holley, Miller, Ford.......all 3 star kids.
- We had to get Trevon Hill, Jaelan Phillips, Gerald Willis as transfers.
- DJ Johnson was one of the highest ranked kids to sign but he had to reach out to us to be recruited - then bolted after a year.

LB, his main position of focus, wasn't any better.
- Shaq, McCloud and Pinck were all from the previous staff.
- Wilder, Steed, Jennings, Joyner, TAC, Flagg and even Brooks......all 3 star. I do realize Brooks would have been higher ranked if not for injury.
- Huff is the ONLY 4 star LB brought in under Manny and Co. Let that sink in for a minute.

So for all the stats this defense puts up and how it's supposedly built to be exciting for kids to play in - we can't even land some of the better talent out there. Why? I think you know the answer to that.

Disclaimer: I'm by no means saying many of our 3-star kids are not talented. They are....and in some cases more talented than some 4 star kids in their class. I'm just using the rankings as data points because our recruiting has been lacking and those rankings are usually a good indicator.
 
Also , look at the job coach flores is doing with the dolphins, them boys flying around and playing all out for em, which means he's motivator of men. He mad no excuses, got rid of loser's, one of the funniest things i heard was when it got reported the dolphins were trading laremy "gas mask boing" tunsil and the other players on the team started threatening to mutiny as if they were already winners and had some type of pull like that, ROFL, flores said, GTFOH!

There aren’t any college programs that recruit based on the star system. The point is that we’re bringing in quality players in numbers at every position except CB and OL. DL was the same way under Kool.

Why? They’re known as the lazy recruiters and the technicians. Let Stubbs stay on staff and I guarantee you WR will be the same. Barry, Rumph, and Stubbs need replaced.

We don’t need top notch 5 stars right now... we just need some numbers. Eventually guys you didn’t think would be a difference maker will end up being a good player.
 
In the meantime while the Canes bullshatting, this game was comical, especially at the 5min:9sec mark, them boys down 3 with 59secs left but on they cared about was who got punished, but than at the 5min:17sec mark, i didnt even care if he made it or missed, just the fact that main man has ice water in his veins got me hype before i even saw the outcome, ROFL!

we had the top pass defense bc we generate pressure up front with different looks and blitzes and stunts.

when we dont sack the QB our secondary is abysmal. both banda and rumph are awful awful coaches. these kids still cant really play pattern match coverage.

I get that schools don't recruit based on stars and i wouldn't either but we all have seen us miss numerous 4-5 star kids at the top of our board and settle for more 3 star kids than we wanted. This was just to help show that. Our defense produces those "stats" kids like but we can't get highly regarded Dline/LBs to come play in it.....the highly rated kids Miami does want and tries to recruit. There's been quite a few over the last 4 years that we've missed.
