Bill Belichick walks off the field before games end. Who would you rather coach your football team?
Depends. Do we get to film the opposing team's practices?

I expect 4 Star redshirt freshmen to be ready to play.
I expect 4 Star QBs to not transfer to WVU to sit for two years
I expect Miami to hire a QB coach w experience and not just pay the coach’s son to occupy a coaching position.

The jury still out on Richt JR. No one is saying otherwise. Your best argument was your last statement, I completely agree hiring a son is stupid. Players always transfer during transition of coaches. Next year, we will know more if Jr. can coach.
How is the jury still out? He should never have been hired, it was blatantly obvious from the day it was announced. It's been three years and he hasn't shown any reason to still be on this staff.
Why do we have to wait until next year to pass judgement? Does anyone really think that Jon Richt is a better QB coach than other viable candidates Miami may have been able to get? It's insane, it's obviously nepotistic.
You've gotta seriously consider the probability that CMR thinks of himself as a QB guru before you can accurately asses the chances of that happening.Richt needs to move his son to a administrator position and in his place hire a offensive coordinator that is also a QB guru. That would solve 2 of our main problems.
U forgot about the late great John w. Wooden!Fact is very few coaches have won a "BIG GAME" that really counted for something nationally
Not speaking of a game for bragging rights or for just getting into a playoff or conference championship.
.
Less than 1% of NCAA CFB Div 1 coaches EVER won THE BIG ONE ( a national championship) ..... not even 2% EVER even won a Conference Championship. The pool of those coaches who have won a "BIG ONE" is miniscule.
A handful of coaches these proven winners have won these Championships many times i.e Saban, Meyers, etc..
Do the math yourselves. According to NCAA there are 351 Div ! schools.
So when you start talking about who can't win a big one, fact is it takes quite a lot to even win a conference title
You don't pay a dude $5Mil a year to be good...you pay them that much to be great. Sure, Richt is a championship caliber coach...Division championship that is, Conference Ship if he overachieves. Don't see Mark winning the big one for us.

Let's say this is 100% true and that is how the next 5 years plays out before he retires. Our profile has improved immensely over his tenure. First off, we get to enjoy meaningful football for almost a decade and not the fighting for a bowl game like we did under Golden and Randy. Miami would now be a desirable coaching location. The administration probably sees what having a great football team brings to the schools and continues to up the budget. The groundwork that Richt has put in with the young players in the community pays off and kids actually going to their "favorite school" instead of the lip service we hear now.
Before Richt, who are we getting to come here? Cristobal? Some mid-major coach that never won against a top team? Someone said Gary Patterson. Thats a joke, right? Why is a coach with a profile like Patterson going to come to Miami?
I know I am going to get railed by the crew that will say this is Miami and a NCAA championship is the only goal. You are living in the past. That is Miami from 30 years ago. We had a short 3 year run over a decade ago but have been nothing but an average school since the beginning of the 90s.
You saying Miami was " average " between 2000-2005? A lot of Power 5 teams would love to have those consecutive winning seasons and all that.
