Im

Going to talk with him now. If I can't get ahold of him I'll get manny on it. Im sure he knows already
He ever come off as a kid you have to worry about? The ones saying that the ones talking about it are the ones that won’t do it... maybe at the moment but a constant cry for help turns subtle then turns into the real thing.

Retweeting suicide quotes is really some next level laziness. I'd doubt someone doing that would actually have the energy to make the attempt.

Then again, it's not my job to monitor these kids' mental health. If the program needs to be concerned then I'm sure they are.

Reading through some of this really saddens me where we are at as a society... Depression is real & it's nothing to laugh about. This world is currently in a real dark place. Kids with actual emotions deal with this a lil tougher than others. Let's also remember for him this is his first time he's had his dream held away from him... Not everyone is built for this sort of ****. Now far as you go hermano the only potential sign anyone would see is he's a emotional kid. Very much so. But any passionate kid is as well. No worries though. Just spoke with him. He's fine just dealing with alot in life. Spoke with Ray & he's gonna go by and see him. Im not the religious sort and honestly Ray probably relates to people and speaks to their heart more than anyone else I know in this world. Whole staff is aware already. Its been monitored and he's getting the help he needs. I didn't look at who the op is here but I'd like to thank whoever it is. I never understand why grown men follow kids on social media. For once I see a positive in this though. Thank you again. No matter my personal feelings with certain individuals this university is now and always will be my family. I appreciate you guys.

Again, we don't need random website porsters getting involved and passing judgment.

Nobody is saying to "take it lightly", but I'm sure that family, friends, coaches, teammates, and classmates didn't learn about this from a CIS thread.
Not sure where anyone “got involved” or passed “judgement” v. being concerned over player’s tweet.

Most people who are depressed are not depressed because of something comes out of nowhere, or because of a "chemical imbalance." Most people become depressed because they are painfully aware that their life sucks.

I don't know what's going on with Walker. He was a highly rated recruit and is on a P5 college football roster. That part of his life should not suck.

Someone needs to call him up, get him out to the gym, and then the track for a long session.

If that doesn't help, then further action is needed. These posts are weird.
Wow, just wow. SMDH.

Kids these days can't even contemplate suicide without tweeting it. SMH
This generation is so weird.

Who even follows a page called Suicide Quotes anyway?

I hope people have reached out to him because this is a clear cry for attention/help.
It should definitely be taken seriously. Even if a kid isn't SERIOUSLY contemplating suicide, the fact that NOBODY even cared to check might be enough to push them over the edge.
In a strange way, that’s kind of a good thing. The more people that are aware, the more people that are likely to reach out. Tweeting about it could save a life.

Kid has been a little off for awhile. Hopefully the get him the counseling he needs. He could be bi polar just based purely on his twitter.

one day he is all hype about football and joking on twitter and then he is retweeting suicide stuff. Hopefully a coach, family or friend sees this and intervenes
That's a clear sign something is off. He should step away from football and get mentally healthy

Some of the porsters on this site could learn a lot of valuable life lessons from you, @dsddcane.

Thank you for reaching out to Isaiah. You have once again shown your quality as a human being.

Also, thank you for always keeping it real, while showing class and a good heart, brother. Too many people making fun of this, and it’s no laughing matter.

i agree. I’m not a doctor but I have been in some bad spots myself when I was younger and lost multiple friends to suicide. The kid is asking for help without really doing it.

as someone mentioned earlier, The ones who typically commit suicide are never the ones who talk about it, at least from my personal experiences. All those that did it that I knew, I was completely blindsided by the fact that they did it. Never would have guessed in a million years they would do something like that.

we never know what demons ppl are facing in their lives and social media is now a gateway into these kids minds for better or worse. Hopefully they get him to open up to a doctor and potentially try some meds if that’s what’s needed.

Does anyone know if the players have access to a psychiatrist on staff or if Manny has any type of outreach program? I know football is supposed to be a mans sport and weakness isn’t allowed but the real world comes knocking some times and these kids need someone to talk to.

SIAP,

Is our guy okay? He's retweeting some serious stuff.
All these kids born in the 2000 been on the suicidal wave like it’s a trend or something some of its real , some of its just for attention, I have 3 brothers born in the early 2000s and their whole Twitter and Ig timelines is filled with stuff like that it’s weird but I guess it a 2000s babies thing , even the rappers they listen be on the same thing like it’s cool to be suicidal smh.

Would that be the best thing for a kid? To be out of a schedule that football provides? That might be the worst advice. What would the kid due with his time? Be alone in his dorm room?

This is why Tom Osborne and Bobby Bowden would try and keep troubled kids on the team as long as they could. Yes the kids were talented but the alternative was to release them and the kids would end up doing more harm to themselves. Many times football was the only thing that kept the kids attention and in line with society.

there's a very strong correlative case of social media usage and teen depression and suicide. these kids are the first generation to have their entire lives documented and shared for the entire world to see. very few people post their problems to social media, so it creates a false sense that others are always happy, while an individual may be feeling down and they don't know how to cope. social media platforms are a huge detriment to society as a whole.

I was blessed at a young age by some real solid old heads. I learned how to take the blinders off. We all deserve to learn how to live... We just gotta get rid of the filters.
